I have a small humidor at a vacation home. We don't go there every week, so when we leave, we usually set the A/C on 90, so the place doesn't roast. I am worried that if there are any eggs in my cigars that they wil hatch and ruin them. Is there a big problem with putting the humidor in the refrigerator? My only other option is to bring the humidor back and just take a few I'll be smoking over the weekend.

the fridge will dry them out, I'd just take your cigars with you (I could never leave my babies unsupervised like that....)

Banjo, you are just asking for trouble. After going through a beetle infestation last summer, it is definately worth the trouble of lugging your humidor (or at least your cigars) back and forth.

Thanks for all your responses. I will be gettting it back weekend after next. Hopefully we won't get heat much over 80 before then.

Perhaps I should have specified "putting them in the fridge IN THE HUMIDOR". Does that make a difference?

I would be refilling the humidifier every other week, pretty much all summer.

Thnx.

banjowizard --- besides drying them out, your cigars will absorb all the nasty old refridgerator 'flavors' ...

... I can see it now ...

What a wonderful cigar, with hints of 'onion' and 'meatloaf', rounding out into an outstanding finish of 'cabbage' ...

Slim, ditto on everything, plus the nutty aroma and taste of the brood of beetles. OOOOOoo yumm.
