My 'gars dont seem to smoke the same when i flick the ash off. they sometimes dont stay lit,or they seem to burn inside the wrapper. It takes awhile for the wrapper to catch up. It's only a problem when im driving because i dont want to drop ash on myself or the seat. in my line of work i have about 2 or 3 hours a day driving time ,so it's perfect for a smoke. Is this normal? How do I aviod this?

Getting good cigars that burn well and carefully lighting it so that it burns well (and not over-puffing) will help the problem, but sometimes when I have a crooked gar and the ash falls of (I try not to tap it off unless it's coming off on its own, but you gotta be more careful in the car...) - then sometimes I purge it and that fixes it right away - and helps it smoke better.

If you have the car ventilation blowing on the cigar that may make a difference too. I've noticed that when I take a walk with a cigar, the burn will often get squirrely. I usually smoke on my front porch. I can smoke a cigar about half way down and it will burn just fine. Then I'll put my dog on a leash and walk around the block and the cigar will start to tunnel or canoe. It may be that I'll start puffing faster (or slower) in response to my walking, so that may affect it too.

BTW, my dog shows a good Pavlovian response now. Whenever she smells a cigar, she goes ballistic, because going on walks is her very favorite thing.

Not to hijack the thread, but I walk my golden every afternoon or evening and when she sees me open the big cabinet humi in my great room she starts jumping cause she knows it's "bonding time".
