I heard from a good source that the PAM '1926 is going to be reviewed in the next issue of CigarAficionado... It is going to be getting a 90+ rating... So as you can imagine the RATING RIDERS are going to be buying up this already hard to get smoke... Im glad I got mine you better get yours...

The 1926's were reviewed for the current issue of Cigar Insider.

All Maduro's

With the #6 getting a 93. While the rest #'s 1,2 & 9 getting 92's

I agree with the good doctor. the 1964's fit my tastes better.

Regardless of the rating . . . they're just too expensive. I concur with doc . . . I prefer the 64 (which have also become overly expensive).

One of my favorite cigars, which seems to justify the 93 from CA, every time, is La Aroma de Cuba - robusto. Oh yeah, and the cost per stick is less than $5 (or 1/4 to 1/5 the cost of the 26's).

The '64's are excellent and I couldn't say that it is better than the '26's... What I can say is that the '26's are a little bit richer than the '64's... If your talking price then the '64 PAM TORP is about $15 while the '26 PAM #2 is about $16. If you can find them at retail cost, for a dollar difference you can have the best of both worlds depending on your taste for the day... Today make mine a '26 PAM #2...

... or you could buy just about any ISOM for less.

I've never smoked a 1926. My local shop has all kinds of Padron (lucky me). I'm pretty cool with the owner so I traded him an Ashton VSG Sorcerer and a Gurkha Legend 8-yr-aged in exchange for a Padron 1926 #2 (a generous trade on my behalf I think!). I'm saving it for something really special. Those 1926 #2's have been in his walk-in humi for like 6 months..it's gonna be great!!

I don't think he has the PAM torp's right now, but he sells the Diplomatico for $15 I think, and the 1926 #2 is $17.50.

I find it increasingly harder to justify even trying some of these expensive gars when I can get great isoms for half the price.

I agree with Mr. Op, however I feel like ISOM can be risky buisness, and I have heard that ISOM are the best with 1-5 years age on them. I have little patience, but great ISOM's.....the dilemna continues.

I don't think there will be a feeding frenzy when these reviews come out. They are already ridiculously hard to get, and when found, are 18+ dollars most of the time.

I would think that Onyx Reserve's would be 215 dollars a box, if they got a 94. That is....if ratings and the magazine hub-bub is true, or just tricky, paid-for advertising.

IMO, cigar smokers already know that the 64 is very hard to beat....and usually easier to find.

I have had 8 1926s, and 34 of the 1964s. The PAM64 Torp, blows the hell, out of any 1926, I have smoked, though the Number 1, 1926 PAM I smoked, thanks Tony, The 64 Torp, is better and cheaper.

I just had another '26 #6 this weekend, so my pallete taste is still fresh. It was an excellent smoke, at first was overpowering, but it mellowed out, the flavor is amazing, matched by no one, just like all padron's. I love this cigar, but I have to agree, the price tag does not fit. I would much rather have a '64, torp or exclusivo, at a fraction of the price!!LOL
BTW ISOM's are illegal in you're neck of the woods, in my case, since I'm Canadian, I enjoy Cubans daily!!!

I honestly don't know anyone who believes CA's ratings anyway ... they are joke.
