I'm new to this group. I've enjoyed reading many of the posts. My first post relates to an ongoing problem I'm having with some new equipment. I recently purchased a 500-count humidor along with a Cigar Oasis humidfying device (my first non-passive type). Though the Oasis was supposed to come pre-set at 70%, I've had to adjust it to it's highest setting to get the humidor up to the 70% range (I thoroughly seasoned the humidor for 3-weeks in a controlled room). Though the humidor is now at 70 %, the Cigar Oasis cycles on and off every few seconds ..... I'd appreciate someone else sharing their expreience with the Cigar Oasis. Do they commonly cycle on and off so frequently (2-3 seconds on then 2-3 seconds off, etc)? It doesn't seem like that should be the case. Any feedback appreciated.

Did you calibrate your gauge? Have you double checked it with a known accurate one?

I've measured the humidity with three different devices (2 digital) with a variance of only 2%. It's the constant cycling on and off that has me wondering most. Thanks.

I have a 500ct humi with box storage, using a cigar oasis plus. I had to turn mine up a tiny bit to get it to 68 % and I kept it there and it never deviates from 68%. If yours is cranked, something is wrong with it. If you arent using a digital +/- 1% hygrometer, get one before you worry about that oasis.

Thanks for the feedback. I have measured with multiple devices and I'm confident of accurate readings. Can anyone specifically comment on the normal cycle times for the Oasis .... mine cuts on and off every few seconds. That appears to be the issue, but I have no experience with the Cigar Oasis unit. Thanks again.

My Oasis Plus does not kick on every couple seconds, so you might have a defective Oasis...

Both containers I've used my cigar oasis in were plastic, and held RH quite well (coolidor, and sweaterdor) I think the degree of seal, and rate of air exchange would have a major effect on how the unit performed. Hav you cheked the seal around the doors? are there any gaps in the joinery?
