As many of you know,
I have recently been sliding to the Darkside. So I was begining to think that I wouldn't be satisfied, by a non-cuban. So tonight, I reached into my 65% humi, and pulled out a Perdomo2 Maduro Milenario.
This Box Pressed Belicoso, had a very smooth apperance, and a dark brown oily wrapper.
The cap cut off flawlessly, with my double bladed generic guillotine.
Prelight aroma was much like barley roasting, and promised great things to come.
I toasted the foot, and the cigar blazed to life producing volumes of smoke with an easy draw. The initial flavor, was that of dark chocolate, with a touch of coffee, but the coffee flavors may have come from the cup of venezualan vendetta coffee the cigar was paired with. The ash help for an inch and a half, before falling mostly intact, into my lap. At the midpoint, the cigar opened up, and produced a touch of cinnimon and cream, but the flavor of chocolate was still lingering. The flavors, continued to build, and increase in intensity, as the ash approached the band. The ash fell again, as I removed th band, and was closer to 2 inches, still mostly intact. Very solid ash. This cigar finished very spicy, similar to a psd#4, though without that cuban whang.
The bottom line.
I really enjoyed this smoke, and cannot see removing this smoke from my daily rotation. As far as the Darkside, I may be slipping that way, but I still have a foothold, with noncubans such as this.
