i've stopped reading her work. i've read a good deal of it, and i can't stand her writing. not so surprising coming from me, but i've found that a goodly number of very conservative, republican folks ALSO can't stand her and think she's unnecessarily bitchy and rude. 3 of my republican right-wing buddies have described her as "an embarrassment" to republicans. d'accord.

I'm not so quick to dismiss her as not being credible.

What she does for me is bring it on home from a conservitive female point of view.

Am I lock step with her? No. Am I lock step with anyone? No. Can I see certain valid viewpoints from her? Yes. Can I see the same from others? Yes.

I used to listen to close friends and trust them like I would my brothers, but I found out that sometimes they too have their own private agenda. I do my own research and make up my own mind.

I love Ann and I'm glad we have her out spreading the truth. It's funny to me how the left can't stand to see a female or black conservative out in public. Look at the attacks in the media on Condi Rice and Colin Powell.

I wish she had her own tv and radio show.

I am a close to moderate republican but I think from watching her on Fox news many times she is a little on the bitter and wacky side.

Me and my friends have a term for her, and a select others. ODF, or out dere flappin. But I do enjoy her stuff, very funny. Like a right wing Al Frankin.

When one considers the platoons of Republican "attack dogs" that infest our airwaves, Ann Coulter stands out as the queen Republican attack bitch. Her commentary is consummately insulting and vicious. I'm sure this is fine for those that align themselves with her views, but Where as I can listen to many right wing commentators to get a take on the consservative view of things, listening to Ms. Coulter for more than 2 minutes makes me wish I could put crazy glue in her lipstick.

She is a little bitchy, but hey Cavallo, would you also describe James Carvell as an embarrassment to the dems?

Or Susan Estrich?

robby: i don't know -- never heard of 'em. :/ are they columnists, or ? if they have stuff on the web, i'd be glad to give a look and comment on them then.

see, my beef with ann coulter isn't about any facts she brings up -- until i can nail down stats and "facts" and assertations on my own, i tend not to believe a damned thing ANYONE says. without confirmation, it's all opinion to me, and everyone's got one. that goes for people of any political stripe.

the thing that turns me off about ann is the way she seems to want to DELIBERATELY insult, demean and humiliate folks who disagree with her. i don't see it as "righteous anger" as much as i see it as needless assault.

the sea's full of salt already. don't need any more added to it.

now ten years ago i probably would have been a big fan of hers. i was into ANYONE who spoke their piece with as much acid and vitriol as possible. i was an intensely angry and bitter guy myself, so that was cool. *shrug* i'm just a much happier person now and tend to avoid stuff that's needlessly negative.

Depending on the forum, she's insulting at best, and vicious when worst.

But since there are too few non-career-politicos on the right, she fills the void that the Al Frankens and Janine Garafalos fill on the left.

With the minor exception that she usually backs her anger with facts.

Good points, good points. There are different ways to approach disagreement. It is never a good idea to fan the flames. And typically, when one does, it is because they lack solid grounds on which to base their argument so they resort to bluster and bravado and name calling. I believe it's a sign of weakness, but I guess it gets ratings. Don’t get me wrong, God knows I’ve had my weak moments 🙂 but I try to make it an exception and not the rule.

Good points, Robby. I never understood why the Dems aren't embarrased to death by Carvell and Estrich. I would consider being embarrassed by Ann, but lust keeps getting in the way.
