Spring has sprung ...

I witnessed 'nature in action', with a hawk chasing a morning dove in the skys above my backyard ...

... and right into my patio sliding glass door.

It didn't survie ... but left a memorable mark of it's final moment in life.

xibbumbero --- it was the dove that didn't make it ... and you mean to tell me that you can't make out what it is by the 'mark' it made ?!? Geeze ... it almost looks like it was 'etched' on my slider!

... after the impact, it just 'hobbled' off the deck and on to the lawn ... and then died like it was 'sitting on it's nest' ... very weird stiuation.

It had a pretty nasty wound on it's back, with a lot of the feathers gone ...

That is incredible. I am suprised the impact didn't break the glass. I had an owl break the windshield of my truck years ago. It was parked.

They look like "ham prints" to me.

And if you look carefully they appear to be male.

Hmmmm if you stare at the center for 3 to 4 hours just before your eyeballs start rotating in opposite directions you will see a picture of john kerry refilling used ketchup containers in a seedy restaurant in Hoboken New Jersey. JonR

My old office used to be on a windowed wall and this would happen at least once a month. Many would sit and die just as you described....weird indeed.

The crows would also fight their reflection and peck the window so hard they would get almost knocked out.

... and the 'mark' on the glass is only about 4 to 5 inches across, including the wing span ...

This could be an omen to your MIL moving next door. ;^P
