I suspect many of you like to play poker as what better pastime to enjoy a cigar with. The reason I haven't been posting here for some time as I have been playing poker (playing it now in fact)at

www.pokerRoom.com

since August. You sign up and get $1000 in free play money and can refill twice a day. Playing 7 card stud I managed to get that up to over 4 million. Anyway if you want some free entertainment and great poker, this is a place to try. If you do, I am aberdeentp and am normally at the $500-1000 7 card stud table. I can even give you some cash to get you a reasonable stash, as it's hard to start with $1000 even though there are very small betting structures. It's absolutely free, no strings attached, they do have poker for real money as well.

Cigars & Related?
Slimboli

Hey pajama94us ... ol' aberdeen was one of the first here when these forums first started ... and has learned over the years that starting out a thread with something remotely related to cigars ...

... will give them carte blanche to say whatever they want in the 'cigars & related' forum.

What I find humerous ... is he hasn't been around for quite some time, because he finds playing online poker more intertaining than dropping in from time to time to chat with his old friends.

I guess we all have our priorities ...

IMHO this belongs on the misc board..

special treatment for seniors??

As a "senior" I have no desire to "enforce"

rules and reg's as you.. thats cool that you

do and its appreciated by most including me

.. but your personal preferences on who you

"slap" and will let slide is again arrogance

on your part.. rules are rules.. as long as

cigar smoking is included in your post its cigars

and related..?? come on guys..!

cayman2b --- there is no special treament for seniors ... and I didn't let aberdeen slide at all. I actually thought my sarcasam was enough ...

I have learned that sometimes a subtle slap will have more impact on someone than just coming right out with the abrasive 'put down' that ends up throwing them on the instant defense.

The whole idea ... is whatever works.

Thanks for the GREAT lead.

I'm going to check it out, and yup, in mind cigars and poker go together. So your post is DEFINITELY cigar related.

See ya on line and at the table.

OK ... I went to the site, and found out I was already registered. I must have done it years ago, because I didn't remember that I had done it already. It tooke me by surprise that when I tried to register, it said 'slimboli' was already taken ... LOL!

I played for awhile, and it is quite fun playing against real people. If you take too long to bet, or bet stupid, you can even be voted off the table.

Also, I guess this could be considered cigar related in a round about way, since my online 'character' at the table was this bald-headed (even though I have hair) Mafia looking dude that had a big cigar sticking out his mouth!

Too funny ...

Oh, and choner ... I was playing Texas Hold'em, and got up to about $1300, before I was dealt some realy 'sucky' hands ... and got down to around $600 before I left the table.

Not jumping anyone in particular, just making an observation...

Is it THAT big of a deal where a post goes that we have to deride people for posting in the wrong forum? I mean, in the grand scheme of things, who really cares? Are you gonna be awake at night worrying about trivial stuff like that? If so, you're in for an early grave.

And isn't the whole point of this place to share information and experiences with other cigar smokers? If we berate them all the time, we will just be chasing them away.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

MACS(SW) --- the answer is YES, it does matter.

Being new to these forums, you weren't here when we didn't have the differnt forums to post in ... and it was a mess.

Gonz (the webmaster guru) created the different forums for this very reason, and it does give a little structure to the postings. That way, it's a lot easier to follow the threads, they don't get buried so fast with all the unrealted threads ... and many of us worked hard to get them to create them for us.

Our of respect for all the hard work Gonz did to improve the CigarBid forums ... I don't think it's that hard to for all of us to post our topics in the 'rooms' they belong ... minus the few 'mishaps' now and then.

Besides, I little reminder now and then isn't what I'd call berating anyone (all done in fun and almost a tradition around here), and it isn't going to chase anyone away from this place ...

... at least it hasn't done so yet.

I think that site would be a great place for CI to advertise, as I am sure there are a lot of cigar smokers there, and I think there are around 50,000 registered users

I agree with "pajamas." What does this have to do with cigars? Just cause he was one of the first on these boards doesn't give him carte blanche. What you are saying is that all we have to do is put cigars in a sentence and everything is okay. Or is that just for your friends?
