We haven't moved in yet. Closing is scheduled for the end of May. That is, if 7 weeks of pee-pee dancing doesn't kill me 1st.

It's on the Albemarle Sound close to Edenton, NC.

THL, how'd you find out about this scenic spot?
Aren't you a Marylander? No flooding or hurricanes down that way?

Blood, yes I live in MD. I grew up on the east side of Baltimore County just a stone's throw from the bay and have always wanted to live on the water. You probably know that ANY waterfront property in MD is outrageously priced. Luckily, my wife and I have jobs now where tele-commuting may be an option. We went down there several times and came to appreciate the area. So, we decided to go for it. Yes, floods and hurricanes are a possibility, but you gotta take the sh*t with the gravy. Isabel hit the area pretty hard last year. That was the 1st time that Edenton's been flooded in more than 200 years. It could happen again this season or we could be safe for another 200 years. Any way you look at it, I'd rather weather a hurricane every once in a while than be on 695 every day at 7:30 and 5:00. We're heavily insured. Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta find a boat.

I'm wondering what kind of fish you'll be catching...

You're a lucky man, THL. Godspeed!

Shawn, as a kid when I lived in Camp LeJeune(NC) we used catch tons of croakers, catfish, drum fish, and brackish-water bass. Once, I even caught a 10+ pound drum with a CRAB NET!!

Don't forget the great crabbin'. Break out the chicken legs... We used to catch them with the stinkiest bait- short of "pedazos de mierda". 😉

I think that THL will LOVE life!

Here I go... threadjacking again...

I used to fish for largemouth bass all the time when I was a kid. I lived for it. Then of course, opening day of trout season on a stocked lake!

THL

i had to look at it three times. i can almost feel it, being on the top deck with a cigar, and looking at the water. i can almost imagine being out there in the rain under an umbrella to keep the cigar and me dry.

i don't know if that is ocean, river or lake, but i can see a 19' deep V moored at a covered dock.

what a wonderful place to live.

MACS(SW),Striped bass(rockfish), perch(white, yellow and ocean), largemouth bass, black and red drum, catfish, flounder, croaker, sea trout, bluefish, sheepshead, crab, shrimp, clams, oysters, scallops and mussels. I might have missed a few, but that's a start. From where I'll be if you go west the water is more fresh, go east and it's more salty.
Rick, you have the soul of a poet to go with that communist's heart. I see a 24' pontoon party barge and a jet ski under that deck.
Pablo, what you see is the opposite shore that's about 10 miles away.
