The opus is definatly a full bodied cigar. Lots of power and spice. Is it worth $20 my personal answer is no (actually $20 is high should be more like $12-$16 for most sizes). Is it worth trying once in your cigar life I believe yes.

Agreed. Great cigar. A definite must try, but not quite worth the dough IMO.

Good cigar, is it over rated? YES! You should still try one to see if you like it. People always fight about it, but I think the quantity of x are just made to seem low to make demand go up. One of my guys has been to the factory and claims that they hold more reserves than most davidoffs

My advice, smoke one, then post your thoughts. I think you'll be pleased.

I like the Dark Sumatra better.

Overhyped, overpriced, over and out.

Overrated and overpriced or not....Opus is a major player in the cigar world. If you want to broaden your experience, you MUST have at least 1 or 2. If you like them, have at it...if not, at least you have a good reason for your opinion.

Mine have been ok, but I haven't had to pay for them. I'd get some at msrp just have them for bargaining (like cigarettes in prison).

I posted my opinion of this a day or so ago on another thread. It was a great cigar all the way through and I really liked it, but wouldn't pay $20 for it. DMV hit me with one in a newbie trade. Thanks for the experience DMV!

I get a few every year at retail ($12 to $15). They're good cigars. That's it. I don't happen to hear bells and angels singing, but they're very good premiums I like to smoke on special nights. I like Hemingways, PAMs and PANs just as well. If you can get one, try it on a special night when you have time to appreciate/review it.

Good cigars YES

Worth the price?? Not in this Lifetime.

Buy a PAM 64 Mad. and you got a much better smoke.

An excellent cigar. Worth the money???? Maybe, maybe not. Very full bodied. You should smoke a few to form your own opinion. Also try a few VSGs.

I like the opus line, but they are a bit pricy. I try and aquire them through trades or occasionally pick them up at msrp or very close to it. You can get the Belicoso XXX for about 10 bucks, and its a lot better then a lot of other 8-10 buck cigars I have had, including a PAN. They all seem to last longer then normal (last Super Beli took over 2 hours, that size normally takes about 1 1/2 max) and are very enjoyable on the occasions I do break them out.

You only live once, so I would follow the advice of others and try one or two. My personal experience is that they are a bit overrated for the price.
