So, here's the question to all you Republican's. How do you feel about Mr. Jeffords of Vermont going to the "other side"? If it happens this week, move over Trent Lott, because Sen.Tom Dashel become the Majority Leader. It will create a 'first ever' for the US of A and will upset the balance of power.....again....Get the towels ready (lol)...Cheers....Brent

Trent Lott was bad enough in that position, but Tom Daschel will set a new standard for ineptness and discourse.

Jeffords should not be allowed to jump ship so soon after re-election. The republican party supported his re-election campaign and many of the voters choose candidates by party. And he's not even going over to the "other side". He's declaring himself Independent. What a loser. He was insignificant before this decision, and his political career is over after this term, thus making him insignificant afterwards. THis is the ONLY way he could get his name in the papers. Jeffords Who?

He was elected as a Republican he should serve his term as a republican. He can vote however he feels but should not be allowed to switch affiliations until the end of this term. What a POS.

vermont is a moderate state. his constituency is moderate. he is and was a moderate, ut he has seen what the far right is doing and he stands for his moderate principles. he might save this country from going to hell in a hand basket. (duck rick, here it comes)

Rick, "Forget About It!", and look at the New York Post front page......aptly calls Jeffords "Benedict" after his new Idol Benedict Arnold. This guy is one big POS. We in California can look forward to the two bi--hes in the Senate rising in power and that means bad for Orange County California! Charlie

bi-hes? fienstine, or however she spells her name, was never a favorite of mine. she voted for ashcroft as AJ, and that was enough for me to vote against her regardless of who contests her at the next election. jeffords on the other hand should the courage of his convictions. it is not important whether we like his leaving a party so far right, it has to make a u turn to go straight. he is a man of principle. of course it doesn't hurt my feelings that shrub will no have to try to unite, assuming he can spell it. it I-T.

Perhaps you shouldn't poke fun at spelling. For your information, General is not spelled with a "J"...
