I woke up this morning preparing my presentation for a conference on Thursday. My laptop died. I called in for warranty support (they should be here any minute). While waiting, I decided that I needed to relax.

So, out of my humidor comes a nice Siglo II. 5" x 42 rings. The perfect size. I held it in my hand, put it ot my ear and gave it a little "roll" to hear how it was. The humidity must be just right. It gave slightly and rebounded from the roll. It sounded like it was saying, "Smoke me Russ. Smoke me."

The wrapper was perfect. No imperfections at all. No soft spots, no hard spots. A little bit of a sheen from the oils. It smelled fantastic.

I cut it with my scissors just after the cap. I took the cap and broke it down into the traditional three layers. Perfectly built cap. I blew on the end to remove any dust. I gave it a pre-draw to make sure it was not plugged and the draw was perfect. Not too tight, definitely not loose.

I lit it with my torch, rolling it back and forth and watching the end getting toasted nice and warm, then I put it in my mouth and gave it a draw. That first draw was incredible. Lots of smoke and flavor. It was stronger than I remembered these being for about the first half inch, but the flavor was all there. It was fantastic.

At one point, it started to burn uneven, but it quickly corrected itself (I think I suck uneven sometimes).

After the first half inch or so, the strength mellowed out a bit, but the flavors remained strong all the way to the nub. Lots of spicy flavors, coffee undertones, and unsweetened chocolate.

It is done, I am crying, and the damned tech still isn't here to fix my laptop.

Great review - you really captured the whole experience....now I must fight the temptation to grab that Siglo VI that stares at me everyday....

...btw, you cut AFTER the cap? like the whole thing?

Once again... my favorite brand comes through with a winner. I LOVE COHIBAS!!!!! Creamy good is all I can think of when I smoke one. I gotta buy me another box. A month ago I had 20 of these things. I got 8 now 😞

Not very good about saving the great ones. My motto: Smoke 'em if ya got 'em!

I cut it "after" the cap, yes. The cap is so small on these things that it really doesn't go into the cigar much. I barely cut into the filler with my cut.

The cap is flat and does not overlap onto the cigar very much at all.
