as for the name, i probably should have used the dictionary-correct mainland italian word, "cavaliere" which means "knight.

but i'm sicilian. 🙂

"cavallo" (in dictionary italian) is a horse and/or the knight chess piece, but in sicilian regional speak "cavallo" refers to a chivalrous knight, a knight of the cavalry or in street slang... a good cop. 🙂
