Wow,

I was just surfing around for some smokes auction place and this (cigarbid.com) pops up on google. I new to smokin gars, but sure love em when I can afford to buy them...but biddin on cigars like ebay? thats freakin coo! ...since I am new to smokn..I have only tried a few brands, does anyone have any recommendations as to brands, size, wrapper, etc? I know I like thick gars, robusto size I think, but which brands are good for your once a week "sit down and reflect" smoke..not too pricey...I'm afraid I may have to buy like 20 samplers to try them all...but any recommendations without breakin my wallet?

Everyone has different tastes. So, buy the 20 samplers and have a ball. Whatever you don't like you can always trade away.

Good luck.

might I suggest going to the Trades board on this forum and hooking up with the Newbie Trade thread - there you will be paired with an experienced cigar smoker/trader who will inform you and provide a sample that you are sure to enjoy. Nothin' better.

Other advice - read the Newbie threads for good info.

Welcome!!

5-packs. You're not out much if you don't like 'em, and you can always trade them.

Lots of research on the boards. Do searches on the forum for topics such as "mild", "inexpensive", etc. You'll get lots of hits on older threads that have relevant info.

Welcome!

Indeed, welcome to the site and the forum. You'll find it a blast i'm sure. Samplers are good to get your feet wet and a newbie trade would be great too.

Go out to Walmart/Target/where ever and buy a BIG plastic storage bin and a few small travel soap dishes. Then go to a craft store and buy a brick of the wet floral foam. Next, get a hygrometer, and some PG solution from your local shop.

Now you are ready for the insanity to REALLY begin.

Welcome, and hang on.

Still pinchin myself......the veteran advice is correct sir!......I put off building a humi, bid and won an El Rey for 150 gars (a gift from wifey)......It hasn't arrived yet and I'm already overstocked for it. When my wife finds out she'll make me walk the plank. OT.....Do I remove the glass tubes from my Toranos before storing in humi ?

i will definitely do the tupperdor i think, its cheaper and the way to go cost wise, i would like to ease into this new addiction since it sounds like it cost lots of money from what i see and hear from other gar lovers, and plus i dont have that many smokes now anyways...

Do the Newbie Trade, did mine a month ago and I am still amazed at what I was sent!!! There is no better way, anywhere, to try a vast variety of cigars, tailored to what you like, than the Newbie Trade....

Cigars are meant to be naked. They did not grow with plastic or glass stuff around them.
