I now know what all the hype is about the 1964 PAM. I just smoked the one bassdude sent me and it was a VERY good cigar!

I don't know that I would pay the going rate, but DAYUM it was good.

Thanks for the experience there, bassdude.

Its nice to be able to experience a cigar that you normally wouldn't be able to try (based on price or location).

I know i have had opportunities like that and I am sure I have given others the same opportunity...

What Chippy said.

I never thought I would be able to afford, or ever even try many cigars like the Opus or PAM....especially because I live in Washington(taxes). I now have many of the cigars that I once drooled at.

Extra special when a BOTL like Bassguy hooks you up with somethin you've never tried. He hit me with a full Bucanero sampler when I was about 3 weeks into CBid....and he got me hooked.

Nice work Tony!

Dave

I could certainly afford to buy the PAMs if I really wanted, but it brings me back to that thread we had a couple weeks ago... how much is too much for a stick?

As I said, it was a great smoke, but I just don't like spending more than $10-$12 on a cigar. I will occasionally, but as a rule I try not to.

Bassdude did me a great service there because I was VERY curious about them, but I wasn't willing to buy a 5 pack for $70 and possibly not like them or spend $23 for one stick in the local shop with the same result.

I have found that this place is great for stuff like that. I also enjoy the way we all joke and bulls**t with each other. The cameraderie of a bunch of people (most of whom have not met) is just uncanny. It reminds me of how tight a crew can get on a deployment. One of us posts a tragedy, we all rush to lend an ear... one of us is down on his luck, somebody sends him a bomb out of the blue... The world is full of a$$holes, but it has a lot of good people too and some of them are here.

Damn... I just jacked my own thread?!! 🙂

Shawn, I do not pay anywhere near the prices you quoted for the PAm 64. The 26 is pretty close to those prices, $21 for a #1 maddie. I'll send ya a site with pretty good prices.
