After sorting through the 4 that Smelly sent I decided on the maduro, but man #4 sure has a very unique smell.

Torp is very well constructed. The wrapper has small veins and is very thick. There are patches of black in the dark brown. Not a strong smell to it.

Snipped it with my handy Xikar and tasted it having a few prelight puffs. The sweet maduro taste is very evident. The draw is very good, tight but not too tight.

I fired it up and was hit front and center with epper. The peppery flavor held strong for the first third and so did the ash. A very dark grey ash
kept the circumference of the gar till the last third then it got ugly. As you can see one side did not burn evenly. This was the thickest part of the wrapper.

About this time I noticed a hint of chocolate/coffee flavor. Then more pepper. About half way the pepper flavor left and it became a smooth mellow gar with the hints of chocolate/coffee more pronounced. This is
also about the time that I noticed a little light headedness and could really feel it in the gut. A definite nicotine punch. The finish was somewhat sweet and left a very pleasant after taste.

I liked the cigar a lot and was sorry to see it end. I would definitely buy these but I do not think I have ever smoked one before. I’d say this was in the 6-8 dollar range.

that was a torp?? looks like you took a lot off...maybe just the picture.

wish we could have gotten a better picture of the gar before you burned it. but I'm still eagerly anticipating the answer..

Awesome review Tony. Mr. Huber would be very proud.

6-8 dollars you say? That was a 2-3.50$ cigar.

Now do you know what it is?

I will not be so easy on giving the other 3 away....but with a review like that, I must give big hints.

Keep smoking.....the quality only gets better with the last 3.

CAO for 2-3.50????? I have never seen one that low. And it did not look like any CAO I ever smoked I think I have had them all but the flavors.

E, I do take quite a chunk off a torp about 1/2 inch. I tried smaller cuts and they just don't feel right.

CAO Extreme Torpedo with 6 months age on it. The age had smoothed out the wrapper a little, and the cigar itself was dark for an Extreme....but I knew you wouldn't guess it by first glance.

The Extreme sometimes gets pushed to the back of CAO products, and therefore, can be found for 2-4 bucks a piece, right here on CBid.

The #2 cigar is a special one, and the best of the 4 Mystery cigars. It will be a great cigar....I can promise you that. Keep on smokin.

I smoked an Extreme corona on the way home last night and there was no comparison between it and the torp. The corona had a difficult draw and never mellowed out like the torp. I have a churchill at home covered in plume maybe it will be similar. This is a gar I keep on hand all the time since Homie sent me a couple.

I am very glad it was enjoyable. I had it in my torpedo humidor for quite a while. It seemed like I was watching the wrapper smooth over the 5-6 months it was in there.....and I just had a feeling about that particular one.
