When you store cigars in a humidor should you take a cigar out of it's wrapper so you get the aroma of the spainish cedar into the cigar??

I take it off, but if I had a walk in humidor (forever dreaming) I would probably have full boxes inside and those would have cello on depending on the cigars. Charlie

charlie, you do have a walk in humidor maintained and stocked. it's called your favorite local cigar store.

If your gonna play with 'em, leave the cello on, it protect the sometimes fragile wrapper. If your disciplined and just gonna let 'em sit. You can take the cello off. Either way, I just dont think it matters too much.

I leave 'em on cause I like to swish 'em around allot in my humidor when I rummage and they travel much better in the cello.

I agree with Bill (Wstewart)...Because I frequently bring a cigar or two to work, I leave the cello on so the wrapper doesn't tear

Yes, take the cello off. The only thing the cello's doing is keeping the original humidity in.

Based on opinions from this board and also from informatin that I've read, I have removed the cellophane from all of my cigars within my coolerdor. It DOES make a difference. Not huge, but a difference nonetheless. Frequent traveling is the only reason to keep the stuff on. Otherwise it is simply slowing down the function of the humidor, but will not harm the smokes either way. May I suggest a leather cigar carrier so that all sticks can be cello free.? Works for me, anyway. Hey Fenway, you from Boston or just dreaming?
