I got a little impatient and didn't let my cigars sit in the humi for a couple of weeks before trying them. Most of them have been great anyway. I had one the other night (a Torano 1916 maduro or something) and it was great. I was about seventy percent through it when all of a sudden I got really quesy. I was about two seconds from throwing up and dumped the cigar ran outside and got some fresh air. After ten minutes of just chilling in the fresh air I felt fine. Is this what an under-ripe cigar is like. I had it on a full stomach with a few beers, and my father-in-law had the same cigar ( with the same dinner) and didn't have any problems. Just curious, but either way I'm going to let these sit.

Probably an undercooked burger more that an under aged cigar.

Most cigars benefit from aging, you can smoke almost any cigar right out of the shop if you want, without "ill" effects. There are some that "need" to be set on the back shelf for a while. Ususally it is to gain complexity and a smooth burn, than to keep from hurling when you smoke it.

You are probably right Ras. I haven't met any tobacco that makes me sick. Just some are stronger than others.

Not that you are a wuss...but some cigars affect people differently...just is what it is...

And it really sounds like a classic nicotine overdose...heh...heh...been there...done that...and there are many threads of others going through it...

would it make a difference if I told you that I might have smoked it too fast? I know that I usually smoke faster than I probably should. I just have to work up to this one and pace myself, because up until I almost made a fool of myself, I really loved this cigar.

wuss nothing...

I have had more than a couple of cigars that hit me really hard and made me fall to my knees when I tried to get up and walk.

There have been a couple where I had to refund breakfast or lunch (damn, those were good cigars!).

We have all (or at least most of us) had our asses kicked by a good smoke.

lukin- you and I are in the same boat. I was gifted one at a herf and I had to stop with about an 2 inches left. Man those 1916 pack a wallop. I thought it was a pretty good smoke until my eyes started crossing, and my head started spinning, and I started to feel woozy, and...

I love the 1916, it is one of my favortie cigars.

I've never ran into that problem with the 1916, but other cigars have whooped me when I had an empty stomach.

Best thing, if you are going to smoke a hard hitter, is to eat something first.

Just my opinion.

It's happened to me a few times too. Just a queasy crappy feeling that passes in a few minutes. An hour or 2 later I'm lighting up again.

Whimps! Send all these butt kickers to some of us that can handle them!!!! LOL

I have had a few that have made me a little light headed, but never felt sick! I wonder if there is a corralation to those that it hits like that, and if you get sea sick as well? (don't know why...just thought of that....cause I don't get sea sick.....that boat swelling up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down just doesn't bother me)

Sounds like the Torano is a little too stiff for you... I suggest you switch to a Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970... LOL!!!

I love a good cigar that kicks my a$$. Try the Comacho Coroho and see if it does the same. Maybe you should smoke a more mild cigar, I'll send you my 1876's and you give me your 1916's. hehehe

I'd rather smoke my 1916's and puke than smoke those 1876's 🙂
