I live in Alaska and the humidity level is low. I am new to cigars and was looking for any tips on how to keep a well maintained humidor in dry environments.

I am barely able to get, let alone keep my humidor at 70. Do crystals or specialized liquids help this?

Make sure you have a good seal on your humidor and use Climmax beads for humidification. Plus there are plenty of threads to read from on this... Just search and you'll find a lot of info.

I like to use tupperware sweater boxes for long storage, better seals, but these do need to be openned somewhat reagularly (once a month) for air exchange.

Where at in that big state r u?

I have the same problem in Colorado. It, during dry times, takes a great deal of distilled water to keep the humidity up in my humi. I have used up to a cup a day in some extreme cases.

Add more devices.

I once had dry tips, but then I started moisturizing.
