Here are a few of the disappointments I've had:
Don Carlos: I know, I know, how in the world could this be disappointing? Well, I tried a five-pack and even aged them well, and while I will admit that they are a very good cigar, they definitely weren't worth the price. Four of the five had a horrible draw (even with many months of age), and while the taste was very nice, I didn't find it exceptional, especially at the price.
Buccanero: I've gone through about ten of the classico maduros and a box of peg legs. Certainly a very good cigar, but frankly, the excessive praise left me expecting more or at least different.
La Perla Black Pearl: Okay, this one just leaves me bewildered. Most of the reviews I've read have been gushing, with all the adjectives that I like such as "spicy", "full-bodied", etc. Tried a five-pack and all five were so mild and bland, I really thought I had somehow received the wrong cigar. To me these tasted like a mild Dominican Don (fill in the blank) brand. I'm almost tempted to buy five more just to see if I received one of the milder La Perla brands by mistake.
