i had my first Fuente. it was a corona size wrapped in cedar with a red ribbon at the foot. i dont know the name of this 'gar though. this was the first cigar that i could actually taste a "wood" tone, was this do to the cedar wrap? can i put the cedar on another 'gar?

I believe you smoked a Rosado. Nice cigar. Toss the wrap.

We need more info ... size, ring gauge, color of wrapper ... any other identifying marks?

There are several Fuentes that are cedar wrapped that have red bands on the foot ...

... oh, and I also say toss the cedar. Your humidor is lined in cedar, and will serve the same purpose. If you tasted any special notes in the cigar ... it's the tobaccos used ...

YOUR FIRST FUENTE!?!

My gawd ... where have you been?!?

I got an 8-5-8 that has the same packaging. But it says 8-5-8 on the cellophane...

... so do the Anejo's ... only they say 'Reserva Xtra Viejo' ...

... oh, and let's not forget the several Opus X ...

Hey TopJimmy ... do you remember if there was any writing on the celo?

I like the curly heads. I can afford to smoke them on the way to work every day and still enjoy a decent smoke. Not qiute the smoke as the sun growns but not bad either.

was the bottom of the band green or black? The only gran reserva w/ a red ribbon at the foot is an 858 rosie, the bottom of the band is black

al'Thor --- he said there was no writing on the cello ...

... I thought the 'Rosado' had 'Flor Fina 858' on the cello along with he cedar and 'red foot' ...

TopJimmy --- the 'Curly Head', to me, is nothing more than a big fat Fuente cigarrette ...

... short filler, and made ou of scraps.

But, it isn't bad, though very mild ... and those scraps are gathered from the Fuentes 'top shelf' cigars!

Maybe he was looking at the wrong side of the cello???

....the world may never know...slim give him an opus, anejo and an 858SG and then he can tell us which one it was....

that's what we've been saying - but there is NO cigar that I'm aware of that has a red foot, black bottom band Gran Reserva w/o writing on the cello...closest is the SG rosie and the wrapper is tan w/ just a hint of red - not very noticeable on some sticks - I posted a picture of one a few weeks ago... that's it, I give up...
