[Bidders]

While I agree, I don't think any of them are listening.

I just laugh and not bid anymore.

Easier to just by direct from CI.

Besides, I am sure you will get at least 5 posts about a dead horse.

jonglo,

what do you have against cbid making some money?

Sheesh... if it bothers you that much, don't bid on them... Problem solved.

chipslave - Im sure you will have a problem with it when all YOUR favorite cigars cost 10-20% more than retail, I dont have anything against C-bid, its just that when im forced to go to a compeditor because of price increases- I dont like it, its an inconvienience and C-bid will ultimately loss my business in the end. So I address the issue with the members and if that wont work given proper time then I will bring up the issue with the management. Its all in the best intrest of C-bid to keep my business and yours for the long haul, im sure they dont want you to start buying from their compeditor- although I know CI is a sister company, there ARE other competitive cigars sites out there that ARE willing to work with the customers. Its not as easy as "Problem Solved".

I agree with you Jonglo and for what it's worth, I do what you do. I set a max bid that allows me a 20% savings over retail. If I don't get them - no big deal, I'll either bid on the next box or get them somewhere else.

Not like there aren't a bunch of other people out there to buy from. Competition is the life blood of capitalism and it's made CI what they are today. The ability to save some serious cash on smokes has been great for everyone. CI gets these wholesale, they're not going to lose either way.

Let the stupid people pay too much for gars - their loss. The educated consumer knows what they are worth and only tries to place a bid that gives them a savings (including the shipping charges as far as I'm concerned).

Keep fighting the good fight.

I think maybe your tastes might be a little too selective?

I've purchased 5 boxes over the last 7 days, all of them premium, and all of them 15% to 66% off of the CI prices.

Absolutely no complaints here!

Did we ever stop to think that the nut-cases that are doing the overbidding cannot POSSIBLY read this forum?? If they did, that horse just might still be whinnying...

Just a thought.

I would usually say something about the dead horse, but in this case.....WOW!

Straight up, if you don't like the prices here at CBid....go somewhere else.

Many of the veterans around here surely get some of their top-shelf stuff elsewhere....but do you see them posting threads about how crazy people with THEIR OWN MONEY?

I'll answer that for you.....NO! And if a veteran CBidder did.....you can bet that he would catch a ration of crap.

I love Cbid, and I am a loyal customer. If some auctions run too high for a week or two, I don't start crying like some here do.

Maybe you should be smarter when you see the auctions are low, and grab an extra box, or 5-pack. That is why they offer multiple 5-packs of the same brand, ending on the same day.

So....if one of your precious faves is runnin a little high, don't come bitchin to us. You play a tiny violin, and I only listen to Yo Yo Ma/cello on.

The End......for a horses sake

smelly4tay - thanks for proving your idiocracy. Lets start here:

[smelly4tay]"if you don't like the prices here at CBid....go somewhere else." Thats one way to get the prices lower! Tell everyone else to leave! How about you guys just check the prices of an item before bidding and we can all get along.

[smelly4tay]"crazy people with THEIR OWN MONEY?" So you agree that it is crazy, so lets fix it, not slam others on their opinions.

[smelly4tay]"And if a veteran CBidder did" I am a "veteran" here, about 3 years, and yes I am bitching. Cigar Bid used to be the place to get a deal.

[smelly4tay]"I don't start crying like some here do." Its not crying- its called being consious consumer, look it up in the Book 'Idiots guide to buying anything' 😉

[smelly4tay] "So....if one of your precious faves is runnin a little high, don't come bitchin to us. You play a tiny violin, and I only listen to Yo Yo Ma/cello on." Wow you are a creative littel sheep arnt you! seriously man WAKE UP!

...and dont be a ******, it always comes around to stab your in the crack of your ass.

I am soooooo sorry. Next time I see something I like or would pay extra for...to round out the shipping costs, I'll come check with you, and see if it's o.k with your "idiot's book".

-"Thats one way to get the prices lower! Tell everyone else to leave! How about you guys just check the prices of an item before bidding and we can all get along."

That is laughable! Don't bid on something unless you check MSRP, and C-International, and you?....and if it goes over that price...OH CRAP...Here comes Jonglo. You are a joke!

-"Cigar Bid used to be the place to get a deal."

It Still Is! Just because some people possibly like the same cigars as you, or have more money to spend on cigars...they are taking something(?) from you. Please tell us what that is? And the answer of "they are taking a great deal away from me", is BS and you know it! THAT IS WHY CIGARBID.COM IS AN AUCTION!!!!!!!!!!

So should I take the plastic sleeve off of the cigar first.....pfffffft!

Idiocracy is posting a thread like this after it has been talked about a thousand-frickin times. I would be/and am embarassed for you for posting such old material. Oops, I forgot, you are such a veteran and wouldn't have already seen this posted about.

Tissue on?/ Tissue off?

Dood, its simple math.

Pay too much = stupid or ignorant

which one are you?

A perfect example:

http://www.cigarbid.com/auction/lot.cfm?lotID=176295

I am DG, and I got a GREAT deal at 33.00, but someone decided to pay 45. Who cares!?!

If the 45.00 guy likes em' that much, more power to him and I hope he enjoys all 5 down to the nub.

My point is, if I were to look anywhere else, these cigars would be 9-11 a piece....so you do the math, dood!

LOL tissue on!

jonglo, i really don't think you're going to start a parade of The People waving their fists at The Man to force cbid to... do what exactly? MAKE people not buy their stuff? put a cap on the prices at an AUCTION?

ehhhh, i'm not seeing it!

this is still THE place for great deals on cigars. and people will spend their money on whatever bloody well suits them. if Joe Someone has the big bucks and he drops it on cigars, then bully for him. may he enjoy them all in peace and good health.

does it gore my ox when my favorites get popular and the price goes up? NO! i write reviews in praise of good cigars knowing damn well that there's a chance others will "catch on" to it as a good smoke, and well, there go the prices. SO WHAT? first off, if i can tip someone off to a great cigar that i've enjoyed, that makes me HAPPY. spreadin' the joy, yadda yadda. secondly, if you hang around here, you'll see that the prices folks are willing to pay FLUCTUATE.

so what if 1916's are the hot smoke here and bring in the big bucks? after the feeding frenzy, the number comes back down again. huzzah! affordable for the great unwashed masses once more!

threats to take your buhjidness elsewhere because others are willing to pay more for the same product is about on par with showing your middle finger to this place and twisting it around.

instead of birding cbid and its more affluent patrons, how's about a little sunshine smoochies and kudos to such folks for padding the tiller so that cbid can continue to offer the rest of us po' folks great deals? coz, ya know, this really is still THE place for great deals.

for all god's chillun.

Sure you may have gotten a good deal there however you really should look at the whole picture, there are thousands of other auctions that have gone over retail.

Its been great arguing, but im sure you have a race to win.
