I have the typical round humidifier. Last night I went to fill it and noticed some white substance on the top in the holes. I'm assuming this is mold. Strange cause I never have the humidity over 70% and also used PG in a 50/50 solution a few times. I always use distilled water. Cigars seem fine. Any ideas why this happened ??

Thanks, Fred

Same thing happened to me. I decided to throw the humidifier away so the spores wouldn't infect my cigars.

Trash it, get a new one

Why worry ?

I would also trash it and get a new one as well, seems wierd that the cigars inside are not all moldy as well!

For now I just took a sponge and dampened it with 50/50 solution and left it in the humidor on a piece of plastic.
