Ok I came across a website that does lots of reviews for products cigars, wine, ex. Then I start to read some of the reviews of the cigars and it is clear this guy has NO idea of what a cigar is and clearly should not have the ability to review cigars in a serious manor. Here is the deal I think cigars are great and everyone should be allowed to enjoy one if they choose, but if you are trying to be a hardcore reviewer you should know what you are talking about. If you would like the link just e-mail me Ashtonsmoker@hotmail This guy is too funny, I don’t know who this guy is but I got a few good laughs off it. Also, let me make it clear I do not think I am better than this guy everyone thinks of cigars in a different way,ENJOY!!
Here are some things he has to say
About a VSG….
“Most of the guys in the cigar shop were goo-goo over this cigar, but I won't buy another one. Notwithstanding its terrific burn and great ash, this mild cigar is overpriced at anywhere near $10. Plus it's box cut, which I dislike. Folks, there are better cigars out there for less money. It's our job to keep looking for them.”
About a Don Diego Players Club
“the Don Diego Players Club Churchill, which I bought for $5.75, is a natural wrapper, but it is darker than most natural wrappers you'll see. Everything was nice about this cigar: even burn, nice ash, good taste. I almost felt like a bad-ass when I smoked it. At least I can pretend….”
About Inidian Tabac Legend
“The Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend is $6.40 at the local cigar shop. It's a little bigger than a robusto, the wrapper is a rich dark brown and it's wrapped to a point on both ends, which is cool if you like using your cigar cutter twice on one cigar( HE IS CUTTING A PERFECTO ON BOTH ENDS BY CHEWING THE ENDS OFF, AND HE WONDERS WHY IT DIDN’T BURN EVEN!!!). But since I just bite the ends off, this wrapper is a pain in my ass. This cigar didn't burn evenly -- I had to keep lighting it. The flavor was decent, but odds are against you liking this selection because it's too expensive to be so poorly put-together.”
About Montesino Beli
“The Montesino Belicoso Magnum sells for $5.50. It has an attractive light brown wrapper, it's well constructed, has a nice draw and burns evenly. The ash was lousy, though -- there were ashes all over my shirt and all over the floor. It has a peppery taste that was nothing special, but you at least have to give the Fuente cigar company props for having cool web site it's a shame, however, that the cigar is not as special as the site.”
About a Punch R.C.
“The Punch Rare Corojo is $3.25 per stick. Like I mentioned in earlier articles, I am a Punch Double Maduro Robusto fanatic. I tried the Rare Corojo because my local shop was out of the Double M's and I needed lots of smokes for my Kentucky Derby party. I smoked six of these cigars on the first Saturday of May. The Rare Corojo is pretty tasty and burns evenly. It's a smoother smoke than the Double M. It is also box cut. Notwithstanding its shape, the Punch Rare Corojo Rothschild wins this contest running away. And it's well accompanied by a Mint Julep.”
About La Aroma de Cuba
Folks, I don't expect to say this very often, but here it goes: this is a good cigar. The draw was good and it stayed lit all the way through. It is less spicy than the Punch Double Maduro. It's a pretty bland cigar, not unlike its cousin the (always overpriced) Ashton. Bland isn't a bad thing for a cigar -- a lot of people like bland cigars. By the way, my own second-hand smoke from this cigar smelled pretty good, too. It probably would have gone over well if they would have let me smoke it at that restaurant.
For those of you who are suckers for gimmicks, I submit to you the following comments that were meant to sell you this cigar:
• "Tastes like a graham cracker." Total bull****. Maybe it tastes like a graham cracker after you've cooked that graham cracker over an open fire and it fell into the flames and you put what's left of the ashen graham cracker in your mouth.
• "Named after one of Winston Churchill's favorite Cuban cigars." Well in that case, I've GOT to try this and the rest of the cigars named after Churchill's favorite cigars.
About a Partagas Serie S
The Partagas had a medium-brown wrapper. It lit up very quickly and evenly. The draw was good but I found the flavor to be bland. The ash was not tight and it flaked off from the least vibration. It did take a while to smoke, though…but that's not really an accomplishment. In other words, I don't recommend this cigar.
About a Avo Maddie No. 5
The Avo No. 5 Maduro has a very dark wrapper. The draw is too tight and I felt like I had to work to smoke this cigar. The ash is a little tighter than the Partagas, but it only accumulated to a quarter of an inch before it fell off. The flavor is…let's say "odd" -- but not in a good way. I didn't like how this cigar tasted. Avo created this product to capture market share in the Maduro market. I've smoked a lot of Avo's and, although I haven't reviewed one for you yet, I recommend you try a natural wrapper if you're going to spend the money on one.
