Finally got a closing date on the new house we've been building since just before Thanksgiving. I've been debating on what celebratory cigar to smoke after the closing. Any opinions?

Boy, they sure don't build them that nice out here in Calif! Those bricks don't ride out the rockin' and rollin' as well as our wood-frame-stucco sway masters do. Congrats...

The little woman (pictured) and I plan on this being the last home we're involved with. That being the case we put a lot of time into the the planning and picks on everything. It's a First Texas built home in northwest Houston. Four bedroom, 3 1/2 bath, 3 car garage (1 seperate as my workshop), gameroom, home theater, her formal spaces and my den. We look forward to a long time of customizing and enjoying the new space. This is reason I haven't been able to enjoy as many cigars as I'd like to - but I'm seeing the light at the end of that tunnel!

I'm leaning toward an Opus X of some size, since I've not tried them yet, possibly a PAM or PAN as they're also on my "to do" list.

Thanks to all for the favorable comments.

Northwest Houston? We're nearly neighbors. I'm in Spring (Spring Lakes subdivision between I45 and the Hardy).

We should meet up at one of the 1960 shops sometime and I'll treat ya to a PAM as a congrats gift.

Cheers, Bill

Congrats! As someone who had to give up a custom-built home theater recently when we moved, and now facing the task of overhauling our present house's HVAC system before I can build another one, lest I want my guests to suffer heat stroke...I'm envious.

wer - What shops in the 1960 area? Since I work downtown, most of my purchases have been at the downtown location of Spec's (those that I don't get here on CBid). Email me, randy_prestridge "at" kindermorgan.com

Eggman - the home theater will be some time in coming. Right now it's just a "bonus room" that I've modified (removed all windows, added sconce lighting, added equimpent room). I'm looking forward to building it out as a killer HT. Overhead CRT, 6.1 or 7.1 sound system, riser platforms, bass shakers, etc.
