Hey Statelandman,

"A guy on another cigar forum turned me on to Pilsner Urquell, and I haven't looked back since. It's the only beer I drink anymore when I smoking a 'gar.
In fact, it just might be the best beer in the whole d*** world!"
Pilsner Urquell, is a great classic pilsner. I use it as a Benchmark, for every Pilsner, I taste, whether, judging homebrew competitions, or just drinking a beer. But as in cigars, taste is subjective. Other Benchmarks I Use, when tasting beer, are as follows;
For a bottled Stout, Guinness Stout. For one on tap, Guinness Draught. For an IPA, BASS ALE, the first and best, IMHO IPA made. For Brown Ale, Newcastle Brown. For a Trappist ALE, Corsendonk. For a Scotch Ale, McEwans, far from my favorite, Belhaven, But very true to style. Since this is a threadjack, I will stop here. If you are inmtrested, in my other benchmarks, for beer tasting, shoot me an email, and I will compile a list for you.
But Yes Pilsner Urquell, is a world class beer, and one of the best, but as far as the best pilsner, If you can get it, only overseas, check out the Czech Pilsner Budwieser, much better than the crap, AB puts out, and calls the King of Beers, when was the coup.
