what's up with some of these bidders ?? it seems like they don't know or do their homework on cigar prices and they are bidding more than what you can go and buy them for, on the web or a store.so much for getting a deal !! isn't that what we're out here for ???

I've been kinda hoping someone would bring this topic up. I have some rather strong opinions on the subject myself. But I am too excited to share them right now.

dragonhunter,

you are about to get a "beat down" from some of the snootier members of the forum for starting a thread that's been posted many times before.

You should know that I, for one, think you - and every other CigarBid member - have every right to post the thread because the forum is for everyone to use. Under ordinary circumstances the word "everyone" usually means EVERYONE, and unless CigarBid institutes a policy of blocking topics because they've been posted before, "overbidding" can be opened by EVERYONE.

To those of you about to hit dragonhunter: if you don't like what's on, change the channel.

00camper --- I hear what you are saying ... but get real. The same questions over and over again does get old ...

Many of the quetions that have been posted here hundreds of times before, can be found with a simple 'search the boards' ...

... and ultimatley save the 'poster' from the ineveitable responses he is sure to get ...

... and doing that simple 'search' just might change the posters mind in asking those 'dead horse' questions ...

... and save them a little embarrassment ...

Slimboli:

Thanks for seeing my point. Let me give you something else to think about. Some people take a great deal of pride in posting their pics, some copied from elsewhere and some of their very own. I try to avoid the ones I'm sure are soft porn by paying attention to the title and who posted. The same could be said for "overbidding."

Another excellent point, and well made (you're on a roll this morning) ... LOL!

But ... you know how it is ...

... like driving by that terrible 'accident' ... sometimes you just can't help but look ... 😉

Good one snowwolf777 ... many will 'get it', and many won't ...

... that one was a classic, for sure!

I think I've got an idea of whats going on with the high bidding, if you'd like my opion e-mail me at

[email protected]

I'd love to know if anyone agrees with this. I've discussed it with my brother (strider) and a few other board members and they all seem to agree with me.

Also remember a good deal is a state of mind.

LMAO @ this one... Hell I think I may the the SOB who shot off the bids.. Yes a bit high and over the cost.. but ya know what.. not by much and when I was rolling in on a closed deal.. why pay 25 bucks for shipping unless all the deals closing at the time just so happen to be what I was lookin for and didn't want to splurge on a whole box retail and then shipping...

I wrapped them all up in one night bids under 300 Bucks and AWAY I Went... Told ya'll I was back and jumped in with both feet LMAO!!!!

sorry you got some ripples up your nose.....

I don't eve look at the auctions anymore.

All auctions are the same. Occaisionally you can find some good deals and you have a ton of people who are clueless and overbid, but as has been said a hundred times, if folks don't do their home work, they are only hurting themsleves.

So they overbid all the time, nothing we don't already know. To me, even looking at the auctions is wasting my time. So, I go to CI or a number of other sites and just buy from them. Less headaches, no watching, no waiting.
