Now that the work 'cohiba' has been made glossy, I believe there are 3 distinct rows of squares on the new bands.

I hate to say it, but I agree...I think it is fake.

Look at the band on the tubo... It says La Habanna Cuba. And the band on the cigar doesn't have the La on it like the new ones. But the new band with the Gold lettering is supposed to have three rows of squares right? I think its a fake.

Good thing I read all posts first... I was just about to say that I know 2 things about the cigar industry... Jack and Squat, but I have NEVER heard of a Cohiba coming in an aluminum tube. Until now.

Smoke it. If it tastes good, who cares if it is fake? Unless you paid a lot of money for it... then I'd be pissed.

As a printer I can say the cut can drift a tad from the top sheet to the bottom. These (as everythnig else) are cut in stacks with a guiloteen blade. To me the band looks real deal, the sheet this band was on looks misregistared. The amount of space that should be at the top is compensated to the bottom.

So if they do tubos now I say real.

A skew in the cutter would have bounced these bands and they would have never made it on to the cigars. Cohiba bands are top notch and are seldom skewed or miss printed.

If one wants to take the time and expense all cigar bands are fairly easy to forge.

Not only can they be forged, the real deals can be stolen and put on less than stellar cigars, I've smoked the proof, yuk! I had a Cohiba Siglo IV single in a perfect box with a legit band. The cigar was short filler crap!
