Here's my cabinet Humi. . . . a gift from my girlfriend. . . . Thanks to Russell K, Mike Adams, and Ess Three for the setup advice. . . . My stock is low enough that I don't need the extra bins on the second shelf right now, so I've got boxes there. . . Cigar Oasis II on the bottom, and a plastic dish with 50/50 on the top shelf keeps everything fairly even at 67-69%. . . . .

. . . . I'll do a "guess the number of cigars" contest soon. . . .

Very nice. Everytime I see one of these I think "one of these days I'll have one".

Let me get this straight, your GIRLFRIEND bought this for you?! Wow. Why isn't that my fiance'? 8')

I've been thinking of doing the same thing... but since I live in the high desert, and it gets OH MY F'ING WORD hot, I need one with temp and humidity control.

I looked online and one with Temp and Humidity control runs about... ahem... $5,395.

I don't think so!

I think i'll go with the Verona and get a single room AC unit for the spare bedroom. If I used my central air all summer to keep the whole house cool, I wouldn't be able to afford cigars anymore...

MACS, Don't you think this humidor will look much better with some cubans in it? hint hint
I think you've got a better idea - go with cheaper climate control for the room instead of for the cabinet. . . . dehumidifier/humidifiers. . . good luck

I think my girlfriend is looking for a ring, so there's an ulterior motive. . . . however, she is wonderful, and has other enviable interests. . . .

. . . can't overlook Mydsooner, who received a motorcycle from his wife, and someone else here got a Corvette as a gift from his wife. . . .

Seth,

I have a question for you about your setup in the Verona. If you could drop me an email when you get a chance I'd appreciate it.

MACS,

For about $200 you can outfit an old frig or freezer with cedar and a temp controller and save the $5100 for gars. See my previous posts on "freezidor"...

dccrens - Yeah, but the old fridge just doesn't look as good in the living room.

If you have an active humidity system like the Cigar Oasis you can adjust the humidity output in relation to the inside tem of the humidor to keep it 70/70 or the equivalent. For instance if you humi inside temp is. Here are the instructions

1.) Read the temperature in humidor.
2.) Find temperature in left column.
3.) Read RH next to this temperature.
4.) This is the RH at this temp that
is equivalent to 70 % RH @ 70.
5.) Adjust the hygrometer correction

TEMPERATURE
(FAHRENHEIT) R.H. REQ'D.
to EQUAL
70 % at 70 F
80 49 %
79 52 %
78 53 %
77 55 %
76 57 %
75 59 %
74 61 %
73 63 %
72 65 %
71 68 %
70 70 %
69 72 %
68 75 %
67 78 %
66 80 %
65 83 %
64 86 %
63 89 %
62 92 %
61 96 %

Sorry this may look like crap but if you e-mail me I'll send you the link to this.

Wow Dave, thanks for that info. . . . I thought the RH was static regardless of temp. . . . I'm going to email you for a little more info. . . . but from the sounds of it, I better plan on keeping the AC on in my living room this summer. . . .
