What a terrible tragedy in Texas. The story of that Mother drowning her 5 kids has made me sick to my stomach. Now we've got the usual banter about looking for blame, and we've found it: Post Partum Psychosis. I've got a couple questions. First, if it were the father who committed this heinous act, would the nation look for an excuse or for a rope and a tree? Next, regarding the insanity claim, I can only say this. It would not be possible to commit this horrible crime WITHOUT being insane. Does that allow for a plea of "not guilty"? I hope the legal sytem uses PPP as a REASON, but not as an EXCUSE. Additionally, if she really did have a "temporary" phschosis, what is going to happen to her when she snaps out of it? The truth will be enough to kill her from within.

how we respond as a society is probably not important to the mother, who is no longer a mother, did this and the father who is no longer a father. all i can do is feel, only slightly, the results of what she did. if i knew the family closly, i think it would be impossible for me to deal with.

I say try her convict her execute her. Who cares if she's nuts. I think it may also be a "HATE" crime against children (if they're one of the protected classes). Glenn

No, the children were white, so nobody will scream for hate crimes, and the seven year old broke away from the bitch and she had to go catch him. I do not feel sorry for her, just the kids. I think she should meet Tim McVeigh and other low lifes of that ilk. Give her the juice! Charlie
