I was just in Orlando Wednesday night. My Dad lives there and is real sick. I expect to visit several more times in the coming months.

Anyways, I am sitting in my hotel room and unable to sleep at about 2am, so I open up my otterbox (from Cbid) and longingly looked at all of the wonderful sticks from Cbid and my Cbid buddies.

The El Ray Del Mundo looked up at me and said "I will make you feel better, Russ." So, I took it out, cut off the cap using my trusty thumb nail, and toasted the end. I watched it start to blacken and start to smoke, I put it to my mouth and drew in the wonderful smoke.

I sort of drifted off on the clouds of smoke. I puffed on the cigar, enjoyed the taste of the smoke and released it. I did this over and over again, my thoughts drifting with the smoke. I finished the cigar (nubbed it baby!) just in time to hear the screaming of the fire alarm.

While it may have been a smoking room, it appears that the ERDM made more smoke then they are used to seeing in a smoking room.

I waved my pillow at the alarm until it went off, then I went to bed. What a great smoke!

Russell:

Funny how something so simple can take all your thoughts and cares away if even but for a few moments. Best of luck. I'm sure we'll all say a prayer.

I live on the road for work and the hotel room is my only "friend" many, many nights. A cigar has made that time alone pleasant for me far more nights than I can count.

RK,

We have all been there in one way or another.

While reading your post, this old quote came to mind...

"Blessed be the man who invented smoking, the soother and comforter of a troubled spirit, allayer of angry passions, a comfort under loss of breakfast, and to the roamer of desolate places, the solitary wayfarer through life, serving for wife, children, and friends."

Sending good thoughts to you and your dad.

Cheers,

PT 🙂

No matter how much I try to battle the esoteric inside, these words are so true. Thanks for sharing Russ - prayers go to you and your dad!

MACS, it was one of the best cigars I have ever had, and what a perfect time to have it.

I would defintely put it in my top 5 of all cigars that I have smoked.
