First I would like to say hell to all.

I have been reading a lot of the posts as instructed by the newby hand-out, in fact darn near all of them, and have successfully bid and won a box of 5 vegas robusto's (which arrive today) thanks to all of your tips.....

anyway

i have a question for all of you all (not just some of ya all)

i am building a humi with the (wifes permission) inside the hall closet. we never us it so i figured why not. should i line the walls with the same material they use in bathrooms and then line that with the spanish cedar or should i use a good wood, line it with cedar inside the closet? im going to lose the outer door and install a nice etched glass flush with the outer wall. it looks great in my head. now to put it to life is another story.. any help will be completely accepted and in some cases( remember i read most of your posts) utilized.

thanks

Welcome and dang you Dave!! I have 3 closets in my hall, all half full, with some organization, I could do this....Dang you!

I don't know the answer to your question, but look forward to finding out as well.

Good job by the way and reading all the newby stuff! There is a lot of good info there!

I'm no expert on walk-in humidors, but I don't think you need to use concrete backer board. That's more for wet applications.

If you are worried about the humidy, I would think a vapor barrier of plastic under the cedar should work fine.

squ1d67, hell to you too! Good luck on your project. One thing, if you're going to put that many gars in one place, you may want to consider some sort of temp control unless you're somewhere that it doesn't get hot and or your closet is in a basement.

I agree with Bud. Staple in some plastic, put your Spanish Cedar over.
