racism and anti semitism and anti anything is very subtle. sometimes so subtle, that the bigot
doesn't even know he or she is a bigot.
"that's mighty white of you" black not being as good
"some of my best friends are ------" see , i like people who are like you.
"i once worked for a ------- and he was a great guy" remembering someone because of their race
or religeon
"did you hear what happenned in israel today." as though all jews are on some special mailing
list.
"joe louis was a hellova fighter." but mentally, for a ****.
those jap kids sure are smart. "too obvious"
i'm not referring to being politically correct, i am talking about racism and anti anything.
the use of these phrases and the hundreds of others that generalize about any group, does not
necessarily mean the the user if a bigot. sometime the phrases are just part of a family or peer
group's lingo, but one should at least examine one's heart and mind to see what is hidden.
if, however, you don't feel the necessity of self examination, or you see nothing wrong with these
cliches, remember the old adage,
"if the foo ****, you might be wearing it and stepping in it."
