yep! that's the casa toraño or casa de toraño, whichever it is they're calling it now.

it's slated for a july release now i believe, and i think a winner's been selected for the packaging contest as well -- the toraño insider newsletter should be coming out in the next couple of weeks.

there's also the tribute maduro, and i think that's heading out in the fall sometime.

feel free to inquire about toraño stuff on their site, btw -- www.toraño.com -- lots of cbidders on there, too. 🙂

over on the toraño board, one of the bro's posted this message from a newsletter:

PRIVATE TORAÑO GOES ON SALE

Toraño Cigars is bringing a long-private cigar to market.

The previously unnamed smoke, which the Toraño family

has created at rolling events for years, has been dubbed Casa Toraño.

Described by Toraño vice president Charlie Toraño as a

“mild cigar with bold and enticing flavor,” the smokes are made at the Toraño factory in Honduras using Connecticut seed wrapper grown in Ecuador, Indonesian binder and filler from Honduras and Nicaragua.

The cigar will be available in four sizes: robusto, corona, toro and torpedo. The suggested retail price will range from $3.95 to $4.95 per cigar. They will go on sale in July following the Retail Tobacco Dealers of America trade show.

Toraño makes a host of cigar brands for itself, including the popular Exodus line, and it also makes cigars under contract.

The company also owns factories in the Dominican

Republic and Nicaragua.

I can't wait for those Casa Torano's. I still have one torpedo sleeping from an event here back in December. Great smoke!

I was very fortunate enough to have some of these after a Torano promo here in Dallas. They brought a bundle of these to the shop and had a torcedor rolling the wrappers on them for everyone. Had the pleasure of all sizes, smoked a toro right off the table and it was very yummy.

I also picked up a few churchill size here in Tampa at an event about a year ago. Rolled there. Have 2 left in my humi. They will stay there for awhile. The others were very good. Mild with lots of flavor.

suh-weet!

i've had the trib maddie, and oh man oh man... that is one amazing smoke! didn't think the trib could get much better, but they sure worked some class of magic on it in the maduro version.

i've not had the fresh-rolled house variety yet, but there's a local event on 2 july that i plan on attending, so i hope to try the casa then -- if i do, i'll be sure to review it here on cbid.

i tell ya, i have YET to have a bad toraño smoke -- not just those with the toraño name, but also those that are rolled by toraño, like some of the cao and gurkha lines among others. the latest is the hansotia/toraño venture, the symphony series. i have one on tap for tomorrow and look forward to the same fantastic experience as all the others. it's like everything toraño touches is great!
