okay, I hardly ever ask for anything, until now. I want to buy a new car, but not these plastic cars that are made these days. No, I want a specific car, and having the dickens of a time finding one in the Denver area. I want a 1989 or 1990 Chevrolet Caprice, with the full Police package. I have been looking for one that has less than 100,000 miles, good transmission, an a/c that blows out ice cubes, no rust (very important), and of course the spotlight(s) and extra nerf bumpers (can live without if rest of car is a prime example), color is to be white, with a solid body, I don't mind minor bumps and bruises. So all I ask from you is to on occassion check your classifieds and just keep your eyes open, I don't mind traveling, and there's a whole lot of premium cigars for the person that provides the lead to the car. If you see it in the classifieds, you might call and see if it has all that is required above. Anyway, I wouldn't ask, but I have seen nothing even close to what I want in Denver for over a year. Email, [email protected]

I am curious as to why you have such a unique request. Do you play cops and robbers on the weekends?

DON'T DO IT!!!...Ever see a police car with the engine NOT running?...We drive the absolute s**t out of 'em and they tend to have lots of problems...I would NEVER buy a used squad, although I commend you on choosing a Caprice over a (ugh) P.O.S. Crown Vic...I will let you know when (very soon I believe) we have our police auction...We just got about six new squads in and will be auctioning off the six they're replacing...KC

Re-reading your post, I noticed that you want a white car...Ours are black...Plus they're much newer that 89 or 90 (96-99)

Damn it Aberdeen, post this stuff in the New Classifieds board! Actually you may want to peruse some of the papers from Wyoming, they seem to always have cars like this listed for sale.

sorry Rookie, my mind is made up, perhaps you are brutal to your car, and perhaps that is the norm rather than the exception, but I sometimes see these for less than 100,000, and often cops took very good of their cars, getting maintainence often. I want the 89 or 90 with the box top, ideally the police interceptor, not the 91 or later, unless I find a Lumina with the Corvette engine, now that kicks ass. The transmission in the Caprice can last up to 500,000 miles, and these are built for the police as you know for abuse. Anyway got a great lead today.

Police car? Wow, talk about asking for problems when you go and buy a car! You might consider a retired New York Taxi or an old survivor of figure 8 racing. Can't imagine going out of your way to buy one, but they have aucitons in most major cities that feature these things! I thought this was a cigar forum, but try vehix.com or one of auto sites! Impala I mean, not Lumina, Jesus. Have a newborn and one mind turns to jello from sleep deprivation. Oh and Rookie, I know of cops in Englewood that have put 250,000 on their Caprice because they can't stand the Crown Vics either, you should email me at the address above as I have a few other questions, as some people here don't like the fact this is discussed here.

Give me a break people...You guys discuss unbelievably stupid stuff on here quite frequently...If I was looking for something, like Smirnoff Ice, for example (which I am since it is not available in the Chicagoland area...GRRRRR...) I would ask the group here for info...It is true that squad cars do have the best maintenance records...We have our Public Works guys check the fluids on all of our squads EVERY DAY. I like the older box shape Caprices better than the "upside-down bathtub" shape that we see now....I bet their panties are in an uproar now sicne I am adding fuel to the fire...LOL

been writing too many tickets lately rookie? Lighten up! If you go way back in this forum, you will find this is the first time I have started a subject that is unbelieveably stupid, I think I am allowed that priveledge once, I still haven't used my overpaying at auctions subject nor the "my tooth hurts" or the Richard Nixon put stomach acid on toast subject. I even haven't used the nude man and a bucket of sawdust discuss teenage violence subjecy, so if you complain about a measly car subject then I will have to ask you to step outside!

I think it's ridiculous that people get P.O'd at others for posting about something other than cigars (like advice about something, etc)
