They have a high price, they must be good.

I "won" a 5 pack a while ago for $39 and was not impressed.

for those who've smoked pre-embargo havanas: do you think they're even comparable with recently made havanas? i've heard that time has mellowed out the pre-embargo tobacco to such an extent as to render them rather bland tasting. wot say?

do a search - this has been covered.

They have real Pre-embargo binder and filler, the wrapper is connecticut if I remember right. I had one. It was giving off ammonia when I smoked it, but at times the ammonia would go away and I could taste the cigar. It was rich, earthy and good, not much of the stereotypical cuban twangy tobacco taste though. If you want to taste an aged cuban - get the real thing. This isn't a good representation imo, but it's a good cigar and interesting conversation piece.

btw, Cav - pre-embargo habanos as well as any well aged habanos are a crap shoot. Some hold up under that much time and some don't.
