Here's what may be a really stupid question, but this is probably the place to ask it: For those of you who clip your cigars (instead of punch or v-cut), even with long-filler cigars there's always fine little pieces of tobacco that come off. I've seen some lick the end, but I figured that would probably hinder the draw. To remedy this, I've always tried wiping off the end with my finger, maybe wetting my finger a little, to get this off. Otherwise, with my first draw I suck in little pieces of tobacco. Anyone else have a remedy to this?

You're kidding ... right. Please tell me you're not that anal ... LOL! People (who chew) stick wads of tobacco in their mouths, it won't hurt you ...

LOL@CL ... I used to smoke Camel (non-filter) cigs, so a little tobacco in my mouth never bothered me. Hell, I shouldn't admit this, but inhaling cigars dosen't bother me either ... at this point in my life ... LOL!

Okay, I admit it, I'm a weanie. I come from the other side -- from despising cigarettes, and never trying them, then discovering cigars.

Rick ... I'm 48 and in perfect health. I had been smoking Camel's since I was 15, and stopped a couple of years ago. Been smoking cigars regularly for the last year and a half, on and off for many years prior to that. I have not experienced any ill effects, no breathing problems, shortness of breath or coughing. A complete physical a couple of years ago put me in excellent physical health ... why do you ask?

SHORT FILLER!??...Cliff, say it ain't so!...Short filler will definitely do that!...I haven't had a similar problem with my long-filler cigars when I use my Xikar!..I haven't smoked a short-filler cigar since the first month I started..LOL

Rick ... many years of inhaling them 'humps' conditioned my lungs ... I admit it's not necessarily good for them, but I seldom cough. But then again, I don't inhale every puff either, just when I need that nicotine fix ... LOL!

Actually, I don't often have a short-filler cigar. I had a box of Fuente short-fillers that weren't too bad though. Passed them out when my last child was born. I've got a great Colibri lighter with its own cutter, but sometimes the two blades don't match up as they cut through, so I get a partially-mangled end. That's when it flakes off. Guess I need to look into a Xikar!

CL, hold the cut cigar up close to your mouth and blow a few quick blasts of air at it. That gets rid of almost all the loose, small pieces.
