Just the proof that I really was out catching salmon yesterday, not just playing hookie. The salmon have been going crazy out of Half Moon Bay, CA. Unfortunately there are a lot of small ones too.
Them party boats don't care on the size, as long as they are legal. I just wished the boat threw the small ones back, and lets go for the big ones.

I've been to half moon bay. Didn't get the chance to fish though.

I went to monterey a while back and found almost all their party boats turned into whale watcher boats. They don't do much in the way of fishing trips.

I'll have to take a run up to HMB in that case.

Nice fish and you are right, HMB is the hottest spot on the northern coast right now.
RAYDER1, try Chris's fishing trips out of Monterey.
Its at the end of fishermans wharf on the right hand side. You can't miss it. He always provides a good trip with lots of fish. Very nice deck hands as well.

I was informed that I didn't mention that my GF was out catching too, but then for those that know the limit is two per person, I assumed it is a given. To be honest, she has been out-fishin me too, but then the women and children always outfish the guys. LOL!!!

Thanks for the info. Actually Chris's was one of the first places I went to (a few weeks ago) and they were running whale watching only. Even thought the salmon were on the bite...Harry said the money was in whale watching. He said if they can fill a boat..they run fishing trips.

I was really pi$$ed to see Magnum Force and Top Gun going out full of orange life jacketed whale watching tourists on their one-time barf run. Those were my favorite charters.

Anyway....I'll keep plugging. I am equal distance to Monterey, Pismo, HMB, so I'll find something.

They're out 30 miles or so and up north from Santa Cruz. Too long of a day for me, but they'll be back in before too long...
