What is the best way to learn about cigars?

Whats a good deal?

Are there any other cigar auction sites?

What are the basic supplies that I need to buy for cigars (i.e. do I need a humidor or cutter)?

Are there any sampler packs that you recommend?

Thanks!

in order

smoke them

whatever you are willing to pay...look around there out there

none as good as this one

humidor, cutter, punch, coolerdor, fridgador, and lots and lots of disposable income

check out the torano sampler, the sweet sixteen deal at Ci isn't bad, and the weekly special they have is flat out awesome

Thanks!

I looked at CI and you’re right there are some pretty good deals. Why don't people just buy there instead of an auction site? I do like auctions sites though. So maybe it’s just the fun of bidding.

What Lukin said.

But I might add, stick around, and read this forum. If you have a question, about a particular cigar, ask about it here, and someone will be able to enlighten you. But first, do a search, on that cigar, it may have already been discussed, at great length.

Welcome to the madhouse. You can check out any time you want, but you can never leave.

P.S. He wasn't joking on that coolerdor.

erright,

You can get some better deals here, if you do your research. I rarly bid a price, up to CI retail, but sometimes I will to round out an order, and save on shipping. I could send you some invoices, that would make your jaw drop, at some of the great deals.

I just won my first auction!

Are Hoyo de Monterrey Governors Maduro good cigars?

I won for 15 bucks for a five pack.

See, saving money, on some really nice cigars, already.

It really gets to be addicting. I stopped in to win a box of Fuentes, or two. trying to help fill up my new 150 count humi. A year and a half later, with a full humi, and 2 full coolers, I am still here.

Have fun

Oh boy I won another lot. LOL

From a sophomore here...

I like the "all-stars" samplers. You can score the 8-cigar samplers for about $2 a cigar, give or take. You'll like some, not like some others. But I think they give you a broad sample of size, girth, leaf wrappers...etc...There are several samplers out there and you get a broad selection, and a different cigar every time. And I thought I was the only new smoker in the post-boom world...

Welcom err. I'd check out the Newbie thread that I just topped for you. Read the thread - and follow the instructions for things to search for - stuff like 'favorite' will give you some ideas of cigars that are considered good by most people (although tastes always vary) and also search for stuff like lukin suggested : humidor, coolerdor, humidity, cutter, lighter, PG, credo, storing, etc. You can get everything you need to get started right here on cigarbid (humidor, lighter, cutter, PG, butane, etc.). Read, read, read and continue to ask questions. Also, I'd recommend checking out the trades board, reading how they're done and then jump in - we'll take care of you!
