I just bought a hand made(by friend of owner) humidor today on Craigslist, of all places, for a 100 bux. It's pretty nice. oddly grained shiny ebony and cedar lined. came about a quarter full of about 50 cigars of all types. Roughly half La Gloria Cubanas and Padrons.

Well, the humidifier seems to have dried out recently. I soaked it in water and put it back so the humidity seems to be up to 60% now from 45% when I got it.

Question is this: Should I get a new humidifier or or is this one shot now since it dried out completely?

Don't toss the old one... Just make sure you charge it with 50/50 then use distilled water in it. Plenty of info here if you use the search feature. Happy Hunting and Welcome to the Jungle!

Thank you for the advice. I wasn't sure if this credo humidifier was toast or not. It didn't come with a manual.

As for the for the the * site, my apologies to all. In any case, it's NO competition. Just a bulletin board. related postings there are so rare I expect the next one to happen when pigs fly!

Thanks for the welcome by all!

Hey Carlos,

Welcome to cbid forums. As for your problem. Did you season your humidor??? If not, put a shotglass of distilled water, in the bottom of the humi. Your humidity should come up soon, once the spanish cedar, absorbs enough of the moisture. It can take several days, up to two weeks, depending on the humi, and how dry it was. Have you calibrated your hygrometer. Do a search on salt test, to find out how.

I would recommend getting rid of the credo, and going with climax beads. I do now. After 20 years of smoking, and storing cigars, I finally have my humi, and coolers, keeping consistant humidity.

Have a great day, and I hoped this helps.
