I got a box of these here at Cbid. Tried one today and i have to say that this was a great cigar. I dont know why i was so suprised considering it's from Perdomo, but i was. If you get a chance i dont see how you could go wrong with this cigar and with the price.

I will be bidding on another box when they come up so please dont bid on these ,OK

I guess i might have to try the others in the series too. Does anyone have any reviews or comments on the others?

mydsooner --- If it were me, I 'would' be surprised, since it IS from Perdomo ...

... but I guess I'm just one of the few that just can't stand to smoke those nasty underfilled, mushy cigars ... 😉

Slim, I am getting damned sick and tired of seeing you rant on about cigars that you don't like. Please stop it.

If you are doing a review, that is one thing, but this isn't very professional.

I have a great idea, why don't you tell everyone what cigars you love instead of stepping on the toes of some great people.

As to the cigars (sorry, I hit the post message button too soon), I have enjoyed everything that Perdomo has come out with over the years. They make several wonderful lines that I include in my every day smokes list.

The Legends are great, I am very impressed with them and the wrappers are fantastic.

The Legends from Perdomo are a fabulous cigar, with "Wrapper of the Year" as far as I am concerned. Rolled to perfection, and IMO, takes the Milenario maduro torp., and steps it up a notch.

I now have 2 boxes of Legends Perdomo, with a 3rd on the way. I can only report on how the 3 I have smoked have been OTT. Flavor is a nice dark-chocolate, no-bitter, with a shot of a cherry floral sweetness.

If I had to compare to other brands with flavors.......A Romeo Reserve maddie's oomph with the overall balance of the Bucanero Peg Leg. With praise by comparison....and the Perdomo Legend fresh off the Truck....These most definitely will age Very well and only can improve.

As for you Slim......sure, it's your opinion, but it stinks! We surely don't want to hear such a negative, unnecesary generalization of something you probably haven't even smoked. If you have smoked a Perdomo Legend, it would seem as though you would either give it praise, if it was good......or just keep quiet, if it wasn't.

There are other reasons why your post is ridiculously uncalled for, that don't even need to be stated. I, for one, think you were way out of line, Slim. I wish there was an "Edit" feature on CBid for such stupid posts. I hope you are embarrased.

just my observation and PO'ed opinion.

MydBuffs (Go Buffs! - damn, they are going to suck this year),

I have tried three of the Legends so far.

Perdomo - I can't say enough about it, it is an awesome stick. The wrapper, as Smelly says, is the wrapper of the year and is the best that I have seen in a long time.

Camacho - OMG, what an awesome cigar, it is right there with the Perdomo. THese are well built and also have a great wrapper with some nice full flavors. I think these and the Perdomos will age really well. By the way, I did the Camacho on an empty stomach and barely adverted heaving... damn, they are good! 🙂 Note to self: Never smoke a Camacho or Perdomo product on an empty stomach, expecially when nothing has been eaten all day.

Puros - These are a good bit lighter in strength but have that nice characteristic flavor of other Puros Indios cigars. I like them a great deal.

Matasa - I have tried them yet. Anyone have one that they want to send to me?

Which do I prefer? All of them, of course.

Hey, note the | 😉 | ending Slim's post. I know I didn't when I first skimmed it -- & I growled a bit to myself.

"I'm just one of the few that just can't stand to smoke those nasty underfilled, mushy cigars ... ;^)" Ya think he REALLY means that Perdomos aren't firm & tightly packed? Could he have been praising the product with faint damns [as opposed to damning something with faint praise?]

😉 afterall!

IMHO, Slim is tha man 😉 [ie, NOT]

As for the smoke in play I found it very good "fresh" & suspect [hope?!!!] it will improve to greatness with age [loved tha Oscuro wrapper & torpedo shape, but I'm a sucker for such cigars] The PIs were good [as described above] & have expectations of them too

As for the Camachos...

They may be the pick of the litter. I keep clawing them out of the box. Will I manage to age any or procure additional boxes to age? [my own private soap opera]

In closing, Boy what a great experiment in manufacturing! I tip my hat to CI for issuing the challenge & flip my hat in appreciation to those who have risen to the challenge!

I too have been wondering about these 'Legends', especially the Perdomo. Good to hear they sound like yet another good cigar, have to pick some up soon.

As to slimboli, watch out people. If you mention you're tired of his negativity towards everything he resorts to personal attacks. Fortunately his attacks don't mount up to much of anything, but just be warned.

I dont know if Slim was serious or not,but he has a right to his own opinion. Maybe he got some bad cigars once, because mine have all been outstanding.

I had second thoughts about doing this post anyway.

It makes me wonder why somebody would post about a cigar that is this good, because all it does is drive up the price. But i had to do it.SORRY

So maybe Slim likes these as much as you and i and is just trying to discourage anyone from buying.

Wow,

A SlimSlam.

I have yet to try the Legends line. But if it is anything like their reserve lines, I will love them.

I find that all of their lines smoke best, when kept at 65% humidity. I'll bet either Slimboli Likes them, or he has had some wet ones. Slim, drybox a reserve Maddie for a few days, and give them another try. If you don't have any drop me a line, and I'll see what I can do about that Brother.

Nice to hear good things about the Legends line. I haven't tried them yet, but intend to do so.

Slim is entitled to his opinion, but I'd encourage him to give some of their product a second chance. Perdomo has markedly improved in quality construction the past year. I used to be pretty lukewarm on several of their lines, but have been very impressed with recent offerings especially the Reserves and Silvios.

I spoke with a rep at a recent event in Houston and he said that they acknowledged past problems, but are now getting their wrappers from a different source of which they have more control. Seems to have made a world of difference 🙂

RussellKaufmann --- let's have a reality check here.

It would be a pretty boring world if everyone saw things the same way, and everyone aggreed with each other all the time ... but maybe you just like world full of 'yes men' who just agree with everything said, without any difference of opinion.

I don't know where you come off as saying that I rant all the time (WOO-WOO, my big two line rant) about cigars I don't like ... since I really haven't posted here very much recently, due to my busy schedule with my life and work ... and it's been that way for over 9 months now.

... and oh ... I didn't know this was one of those 'hoity-toity' 'professional' forums.

For the record ... I have given Perdomo cigars more chances than I care to count, and I have given up on them. They seem to do nothing but disappoint me, and I won't waste any more of my hard earned $$$ on them. Don't get me wrong, there are several lines that I think are truly outstanding (but way to much $$$), and in my early years of cigar cigar smoking I bought many. But on a whole in recent years, their quality has steadily gone downhill ...

... and there are so many other manufacturers out there that are far more desireable. But, if you like them and have had good luck with them, that's great. We all have a right in this free world to enjoy what we choose, and the right to voice our beliefs.

Slim,

very well said and you know 10 fold of what I do about cigars, but I think the revamp of the perdomo line has done wonders for them.

Last time I looked this entire board was called a "forum". When does that mean you can't state your mind? Slim can say what he pleases (within the rules of said forum)but that doesn't mean you have to like it, read it,or agree with it.

Slimboli - OK, rant was not an appropriate word here. This is not the first time that you have had negative things to say about Perdomo here in the forums. Think about it for a minute and you will realize that your post just doesn't add up because you never even tried the product being discussed, you just used it as an opportunity to take another shot at Perdomo.

A request was made for info on the Legends series, which you obviously have not smoked, and you gave a crappy negative reply. How you can give an informed response without trying one is truely amazing. You must have some special powers. Somehow, I just don't think your knowledge and experience in the industry is enough to warrant you slamming one of the greats in the industry. You might have an opinion, but it is better to keep your mouth shut in some cases.

If somebody posted about a cigar that I don't like, I keep my mouth shut. I really keep it in check when I know it is a cigar or brand that is well received by the industry even if I don't care for it. If somebody asks me directly, I will give them my feedback, and I will make sure they understand that some products just don't fit my taste profile. In some cases, I might provide some feedback based upon my experience with the particular cigar, but I sure don't insult an entire brand and an entire family out of hand. I also don't stick my nose in when I haven't even tried the cigar in the post.

Professionalism is important everywhere. No, this forum is not hoity-toity, but I would expect it to not be so low-end that it is acceptable to do what you did. If you can't behave like an adult, then stop posting. You complain about not having any time, but you had enough time to provide worthless information in this case. If you have time to post, be constructive with it, if you don't have time, then don't waste ours with your BS.

The timing of your ill-advised post is also an issue, but that doesn't really matter since you obviously didn't know about Nick, Sr.'s death when you first posted. What really matters is that you have a special role in these forums and you set a really poor example for others to follow.

As to the rest of you supporting Slimboli on this, think about it for a minute. What do you think about the negativity and how it looks to manufacturers that visit here. Is somebody going to talk some trash about Torano, Fuente, Camacho, Olivia, and other legends in the industry now that Slimboli has set the example? I sure hope not. There are ways to respond that are appropriate and not necessarily positive. Can you imagine somebody of Slimboli's stature and special position at CBid making a similar remark about a Torano product knowing full well that Charlie Torano visits here?

I don't claim to be perfect, but I am not about to insult a legend in the industry expecially when I hadn't even tried the cigar in question.

To avoid a flame war, I promise to not post in this thread anymore. I think I have made my point. Feel free to disagree.

I think that the perdomo brand had a few problems before and now that they have recently addressed the problems; their lines have improved by leaps and bounds and are worth giving another try…

I feel that if anyone wants to “DOG’ a brand they can do so even if it isn’t slim. I don’t think that you have to try every single cigar that a brand makes to know that you don’t like the brand….

"I feel that if anyone wants to “DOG’ a brand they can do so..."

I guess one would be hard pressed to argue

Slim has always seemed quite opinionated

However, as he really seems to dislike Perdomo product, his post was quite gratuitous, perhaps even pompous

Slim will still have his defenders, but perhaps many of us have grown tired of his various "contributions"

I won't deny he's contributed quite a bit in a positive way, but I for one wouldn't miss him fading to black
