I'm new to all this and have a question on aging in the humidor.

If I age Acids, with their distinct aroma, with other, more traditional gigars, am I asking for a humidor where Acids take over the rest?

All your other cigars will smell just like the acids. They have to be kept separate.

I dont like to come on here and dog someone for not doing a search first....but do a search..........

Better yet do this....

Put one of your ACID's in a ziplock bag with a non-ACID for 24 hrs. Take them out and just smell the non-ACID. Now you know.

YES , including your humi will be forever Acid scented. I love acids! and have a seperate humi for just those. I have placed non acids in there to age on purpose to give them a slight hint of aroma on occassions 🙂

but the rule is NEVER mix...

Even just the band will smell up the place. I have a couple in my band container, (a smal cigar tin), and every time I open it, it smells like and Acid cigar.

I've read that cigar separation is a myth and that your cigars WILL NOT blend and taste like eachother. ACID may be a different story.

It is a myth -- unless you're talking about cigars that have oils and stuff added to them. A friend of mine who owns a cigar shop once experimented with putting a baggy of black cavendish with some cigars - and they came out smelling like vanilla. Some people like the different aroma / flavor, but I wouldn't experiment like that in your humidor. Maybe put some stuff together in a rubbermaid container.

You are right, though -- a strong cigar and a mild cigar won't blend so long as they're both all tobacco.
