Why does Cbid ship on thursday? that guarantees that the package will be sitting in some hot warehouse over the weekend. Why not wait till Monday and ship all auctions won, up until Sunday. At least then the package will keep moving and won't be intransit as long.

I would guess it's because M-T-W are the busiest days for CI. Getting all those 2 days ships out. they probably experience a bit of a lull by Thursday & can work on all the winning bids of the voracious C-bidders.

I bet it all comes down to a good reason, or they would do it....however, I have no idea why..

What's wrong with Thursday shipping? They ship Thursday, I get it Friday...

Oh wait, I only live about 90 minutes away!

So change your preferance to ship daily.

That would solve the problem, but probably cost you more in shipping. ; )

I live near Clearwater, FL. UPS tends to deliver to my home in the late afternoon. The shipment probably stays in the truck all day. Upon opening, my cigars can be hot, over 100 degrees. Load a box in the coolerdor, and you can watch the temperature skyrocket.

Is there long term damage from high cigar temps?

Slimboli..Thats what I'm doing by starting this thread, I assume they read it, also if I changed my shipping to daily, it would cost more and I could only bid on auctions that ended on Monday or Tuesday.

"... fresh minds, fresh ideas."

HeartPumper,

I think in most cases there is nothing to fear in regards to heat related damage to your stogies.

There is, however the threat of B"ea"tles (do a search). Some folks here freeze all of their summer shipments upon arrival JIC.

Jdllizard --- the staff at CB are very busy, and just don't have the time to sit down and read every thread that is posted ... they've mentioned this many times in the past.

If you have a questions for them, it's best to click the 'Contact Customer Service' button on the bottom of the main page ... and they will give you a direct answer to any queston you may have ... or you can just wait, and hope they just happen to read this thread.
