I agree. I've been trying one every week and they get noticably better each time.

Question, If Cbid, or any seller for that matter, stores all their cigars in a controlled environment and we in turn also keep them in a like environment, why is it that most everyone finds it necessary to lay them down for a week or so before smoking them? Does two or three days ship time mess them up that much?

I believe someone else asked a similar question recently but no one followed up.

I ordered a box while deployed, and had Liz taste-test one. She doesn't normally care for maddies, so when she liked 'em, I ordered two more boxes! So now I got three boxes in my humi, Torps, Churchills, and Robustos

With all due respect to our brother Post office workers on this forum... I think mailing does mess with the sticks quit a bit. The heat and then cold, if sent by air, will mess with the tabacco, and how dense they are packed to each other. They expand and contract just like anything made up of natural materials.

I always try to sit them down for a few days/weeks to settle them, and get them used to the relative temp and humidity here on the east coast. It seems to help.

Just my opinion though.

It's funny how some cigars really don't seem to be effected much by the shipping process & are pretty much ready to smoke when you get them. Others, do not ship well. I had one salesperson aikin cigars to living, breathing creatures who have their balance upset by the act of shipping them a couple thousand miles. I tend to think of cigars in this way. They age just like wine & you wouldn't crack open an expensive bottle of wine & drink it right off the truck.
I must admit that I am an impatient bugger & will try 1 out of a box the day I get them. It is a real struggle for me to leave the 5 packs alone, but if they don't ship well, then I have just smoked 20% of my stash of that particular cigar only to find I should have left them alone for a couple of weeks.
I have 1 Camacho Liberty that has been at rest about a week. I will leave this one alone for some time though.
