Ok, a few recent posts have sent me to the local to check these out. I bought a couple of Pinar 3000 toro (5.5x50) maduro sticks for $11 each just to check them out. They are currently resting in my Cuban 'dor awaiting my flame. I read all the literature there at the store, have done my google search, read all the posts from 3 different cigar forums. They do smell wonderful, like a barnyard.

My question is... the literature talked about the 3000's being made from 100% "preserved and restored" pre-embargo Cuban tobacco. What is a "restored" tobacco leaf?

My other question is....for how much longer are cigar companies going to keep "finding" pre-embargo Cuban tobacco leaf? Until the embargo is lifted? I guess I'm wondering if this is all real or not, any more thoughts?

Beats me as to wether they are really cuban tobacco or not, but the ones I have smoked were very good. Even if not genuine I would by them again just on taste alone.

I've smoked a few Beli's and churchill's... I thought they were pretty good. 100% Cuban tobacco ???

I bought 19 of them (mixed beli and church) at $7.99 ea. and got a 15% dicount off that.

I have heard there stockpiles of pre-embargo tobacco just waiting for the right time to be release. Obviously it is limited, but it is still out there..

Wonder how they got the stuff out of Cuba...was a lot of Cuban tobacco leaf shipped out of the country to make cigars before the revolution?? I thought it was all rolled in Cuba, pre 1959 (and now for that matter).

You can buy real brand name Cubans for the same price. You make the call.
