I just purchased this box of 50 from an auction site. These were rolled in Pennsylvania circa 1950 using all Havana filler. I had to smoke one. It was rolled like a rock, great draw & ash, with a full well rounded Cuban flavor. Nubbed it!

Actually it was impressive. I have also smoked many other older domestic and cuban cigars. Most of them were pretty good. One really old cigar of unknown origin tasted fantastic (probably cuban) and I rate it in my all time top five. They seem to be as hit or miss as buying new un-tryed cigars. I think that a lot of it has to do with how they were stored.

I've got MANY old collectible cigars - usually get 2-3 in a set and smoke only 1 and keep the other as a momento per say - I do trade any extras that I have and I do have some pre-embargo sticks that are around 45-50 years old. They are NOT for sale, however, I am always looking for for a stick or two that I don't have to add to my collection. Currently, I have about 265 different (collectible, in my opinion) sticks that I have set aside for viewing purposes - I'll never smoke them!
