Tonight I set one of the short bellicosos aflame. Now, I must preface my comments with the following: I had a wonderful French Pinot Noir and some spicy chicken wings off the grill before thoroughly enjoying this cigar. I smoked with a great friend sitting ouside on his patio on a beautiful night and was in a terrific mood. The cigar was beyond expectation for a buck and a quarter cigar. I've smoked too many at 5 times the price that didn't measure up to this. In another thread, it was written that this was like a 5 Vegas; but I found that to be only in terms of power. This cigar does not have much ligero for power, but it does have a very mature tobacco flavor. Bear in mind these sticks are at least four years old and all the bite of some new cigars is long gone. The wrapper appears to be an Ecuador Sumatra, but I can't be sure. The coloration is a little too dark for Connecticut and when these were rolled corojo and rosado weren't being used much. I didn't attempt to break the ash until it was over a full inch long, the sign of a well rolled long filler cigar. This is not a VSG, Bolivar Fuerte, or LL African Fuerte, but it's also not a Macanudo. It has the characteristic draw of most Perdomo cigars; very easy. The aroma was extraordinary. I was the second to light up and when I smelled my friend's cigar, I couldn't wait to smoke this little fella. Frankly, I was expecting the worst, but I found myself saying, "dam, I'm glad I picked up two bundles." I am very satisfied with this cigar. The short bellicoso lasted a good 40 minutes, which, for me, is about perfect. As I write this note it's midnight and I have all I can do to resist going out on my deck and lighting up another. For $25 to $30 a bundle, I'll grab what's available. I'd be hard pressed to find a cigar that has the characteristics that I look for at this price. Steve*R

Better be careful not to spread the word too loudly. They're sounding so good, the rest of us might outbid you!

I was outbid on a bundle, but that's fine with me. To sip a fine port alone has no pleasure compared to sharing with a friend. I have two bundles for a total of $53.00 paid. I have no complaints. I will smoke them along with many others that I enjoy. Someone else will enjoy them as well. Steve *R

I thought you weren't supposed to enjoy these. After all, what can you expect from a buck-and-a-half cigar? (famous words?) :o)

the way people around here are raving about them, doubt it. I got a couple of five packs and am mighty pleased with them. As you said, nice easy draw, creamy mellow flavor.
