We said goodbye to Norma Jean today. She was a 16 year old mini Dachshund that weighted all of 9 lbs. She was always with us and slept in the bed with my wife and me! We will miss her and I am going to smoke a Montecristo #2 ISOM in her honor! I really loved this little gal and will miss her forever. We have two male Vizslas who will miss her since she was the alpha dog in our house! Just thought I would post her picture (taken last year) and let all share! She was truly a great little dog with the heart of a dog much bigger.

Goodbye Norma Jean!

Charlie and the Mrs.. Sorry to hear of the Loss..

she looks like a doll!!!

I've just been doing a search on the Mini Doxs for my brother and sis in law... there wanting a dapple or piebald...

I know these are one of the best house pets one could own....

God Bless

That's tough.

Remember the good times and "jump" into the saddle with a new one when your heart allows.

My condolences, too...I've always thought it sucked that the most humane thing you can do for an animal is the hardest thing on a human.

I know you will miss her, but she lived to be 112. That's quite an accomplishment. What a blessing to have had your friend with you for 16 years. I'm sure her life was very happy & with people who loved her.

Sorry to hear about your loss. When you finish your Montecristo, frame Norma Jean's picture with the ring just it the picture. I've done that with many "Honor Smokes" and it makes a real nice memory.

Sorry, I ment to say "with the ring just below the picture".

Hey folks

Your kind wishes have made both me and my wife (Judy) feel much better than we thought we would. This is the third time I have gone thru this in the last 6 years, and it doesn't get any better! We have always had at least three dogs, and I am sure there will be another little doxie in our future when the time is right!

Thanks

Charlie

I know the pain of losing a friend! A dog is often a truer friend than most people can be. I've had a dog that I gave a treat to when I was really broken up about a long-term relationship that went south, and she looked at me with the rawhide chew in her mouth as if to say "What's wrong, Boss?" And when I just told her to "Go away", she jumped up, over my knee that I had crossed to discourage her from trying to get in my lap, and landed square in my lap anyway! BTW, she was a 60 lb half wolf, quarter greman shepard, quarter malamute! Anyway, I couldn't keep feeling sorry for myself with a friend like that caring for me! God bless you Remington! My heart goes out for your loss!

Thanks to everyone of you. We miss her today and will continue to miss her! The two Vizslas are walking around wondering where she is!
