As I enter the sunset days of my life knowing my hour glass grows smaller with each new day, I reflect on the one word that has destroyed more men, women, kings, queens and nations: GREED. Over the years I have sat at the feet of great men, listened to word of wisdom and watched as pride enters the door allowing greed to sow the seeds of destruction, as cancer will destroy the body. Having just finished scanning the site I notice where greed has entered the door: the cancer cells have mutated. Glancing to my ashtray, watching the blue smoke ascend from a Don Tomas, then fade, I cannot help but wonder if the smoke reflects in time.

Uh, am I missing something here? Is it the nature of this business, bidding against each other, that you find the greed, or is it just because you see some of the lots at or above retail? If it's the latter, as has been mentioned numerous times here, then it's just lack of awareness, and an opportunity to keep this place thriving while others lay low for the good deals.

As you ponder the imponderables, just remember one thing: Once a king, always a king.......

Son, let me see if I can simplify things for you. Notice some time ago the base bid started out low, say around a dollar or so? Will now, I’ve noticed where that dollar has increased to say 5 dollars. Get the picture? My concern is not with the bidders as they may pay what they wish. That’s between them and their credit cards.

Greed. It's what makes America great. It separates us from the primates. Without greed, what would we be?? God Bless America.

DAD, let me see if I can simplify things for you . With a little perusing you will see that only some items have a $5.00 start bid while the majority of the items still start at $1.00. It is the nature of the business to have to increase the start bid in order to maintain minimum profit margin. Items that consistantly go beyond the start bid, always start at one dollar. Items that most consider POOP, start higher. Comparisons between here and your other mentioned location are way out there. Increase increments are moderate here. Your still only paying a buck a stick for POOP plus shipping, what's the problem. This ain't a soup kitchen.

My apologies for the post Son. It was not my intent to over tax your understanding of Econ 101. Perusing is good for the soul. If you a mind too, do a little yourself, then I believe you will acquire a deeper understanding of my post. We should thank the Lord for those soup kitchens. Saved many a hungry man back in my youth. Then, I would guess… you wouldn’t understand that either. Watch where you walk Son, I’m sure you don’t want POOP on your shoes. Yes sir, even if it’s only a dollars worth.

Mr Mean… Please disregard my response to you. I scanned my post and noticed where the editor has prolifically destroyed the framework of the post, whereby leaving only words without continuity and giving a bogus impression of the intent. I would have been better served had the editor graciously deleted the whole post after finding “an opinion” so offensive. So much for a graceful attempt at the truth…

Alright Dad. If your looking for a soup kitchen this aint it. If everywhere you look you see a soup kitchen then maybe you should look into assisted living. They don't give cigars away here. If they did, they would not be here. This is a good place to do business. You need some free smokes, e-mail me, I'll be your soup kitchen. [email protected]

You should see (if you haven't already) the movie, The Man Who Would Be King' ... one of my all time favorites with Sean Connery and Michael Cain. It's an oldie, but one that no one should miss ... oh, and I'm smoking an 1988-1990 Armenter (and it definately has Cuban filler)... I can taste it ... YUM!!!

The jest of my post was not about this site…. It was directed toward their ‘mirror???’ site –whose name if used, I now know, will quickly end in the deleted file. I too like this site and will continue to support it. We live in a fearful time when words are edited or suppressed at the whim of another: as history has so brutally taught us. I know what I wrote and the ‘power that be’ know what I was talking about or they would not have been so quick to suppress it, even thought it was written in a general sense. Proves a point I’ve believed for many years: We have freedom of speech in word only…. not in reality. Someone once told me “Follow the Money.” How sad…

Is it just me, or do you also hear a deep, booming, slow and deliberate voice when you read Lobo's posts? Slim, are those pre or post Castro Cuban leaves?
Slimboli

Post Cuban leaves. They were the Armenter's that were made for European export ... but ended up in the US many years ago, and were locked up, untill the Lawyer's told someone to make them go away ...
