Any benefit to turning cigars in your humidor? I don't make it a practice, although I do rearrange things when its time to re-humidify. I find that some cigars will burn unevenly and I'm not sure if it's because they sit on the same side.

I've read that if your cigar burns unevenly that it is an oxygen issue. There is supposed to be more air flow at the bottom of the foot of the cigar, so if it burns unevenly, turned the part that is not burned to the bottom to even things up. I've tried this and it actually does work.

I don't think there's a benefit. Unless of course you just want an excuse to open your humidor for a quick whiff. Might as well turn your sticks while you're there. LOL

I see nealep saw the question as I first did: turn while smoking. I thought, WTF??? Then it dawned on me that it was a question among the many regarding optimum storage.

++I give each stick a quarter turn every 8-10 days so every month to 6 weeks, there's a complete rotation. Every complete cycle I flip the stick, so the foot & heat are reversed. Believe me, this makes each stick age to perfection. ++

I dont think turning your smokes in a small humi is needed but I strongly suggest rotating smokes from top to bottom in large humi's or coolerdors as humidity levels differ from top to bottom..
